Guess the game!
After a few real-life repair quests, the screen is finally fixed and the broken hinges have been conquered with a custom 3D-printed repair kit. Clips are holding the speaker grills in place while the adhesive dries. Need a little patience before the final reveal
After years of modding Xboxes, it was finally time to build the Crystal Xbox just for me. Based on a 1.4 board, it’s loaded: custom LEDs, 128MB RAM, HDMI, Cerbios 3.1, 2TB HDD, cooling mods—and no DVD drive. Love how it turned out. Now I just need a crystal controller.
The one time I leave the lab while the 3D printers are running, they decide to express themselves artistically.
Behold: several hours of PLA filament, now auditioning for a role as a curly wig.
This was my first installation of the Virtual Ribbon replacement kit, designed by SegaSonicFan and sold by @StoneAgeGamer. The install is not beginner friendly, but the EZ Mount system significantly streamlines the installation. Once completely unusable now functions like new.
I've worked on many consoles over the years, but this is a first. A message left behind by Larry and Justin, maybe meant for no one in particular, yet here I am reading it. Thank you, Larry and Justin, for leaving a trace of yourselves for someone to find.
Xbox Series X was overheating then suddenly no video. Replaced HDMI port, new thermal paste and thoroughly cleaned. It was roach infested and seem like they were feeding them raisins 🤦🏽♂️🤢
Got a new PSU for a PSX and the loader hangs when loading a game. Everything works fine with original PSU. Only difference I can find is on the reset line it’s 3.5V, original is 1.5V. Has anyone had this problem?
Giving new life to an old PlayStation. Full recap, XStation install with 3D printed cover. New modern power supply in the mail. What other mods would you recommend? Let us know in the comments 🤙🏽

@nostalnerd You forget that you were paying for the cartridge and you owned the game. Pop in in the SNES and it works. That high price for digital media that you don’t own and will potentially have it for a limited time. I’m definitely not a fan of digital media.
Reballing some memory chips to replace on a Xbox 360. I would not be able to do it without a microscope nowadays. Sometimes it sucks to get old 😂😂😂

The latest repair is a Sharp Twin Famicom. Never thought I would be able to see one in person much less get to play on it. It is the original Japanese console and the disk drive in one. Don’t forget to watch the short clip press the like button on YouTube

@topvint For now it’s storage and a jellyfin server. I am considering adding a Minecraft server. Jellyfin can use the 1660 for transcoding but I need to further test. If the system can boot without the video card then it should lower the power used.
Successful installation of TrueNAS! Now to transfer tons of files and install Jellyfin. Power draw is between 60W and 85W, works great. Maybe if we swap the 1660 super for a 1030 would lower the power usage. What do you recommend? #truenas#server#storage#backups
