I write about holistic digital marketing and useful tech for SMB's with a focus on content strategy, analytics and SEO, while keeping an eye on the future 🇨🇦
AI-generated content came up in a meeting when we found a high ranking dev firm writing posts that their technical ideal client would NEVER read.
This is an even worse example – the SEO behind it proudly called it the greatest "SEO heist" but traffic's since fallen off a cliff:
If you do a second of digging, it's obvious this is @CausalHQ and if you do a bit more digging - it's obvious their content is garbage: no visual aids, just pure autogenerated crap.
Would be amazed if this brought in enough paying users to cover the lift to get this live.
AI is a rare example of an extremely hyped thing that almost everyone still underestimates the impact of in even the medium-term.
what are other examples of this from the past couple of decades besides the iPhone? i'm curious what we can learn.
If you thought Apple couldn't eliminate more data / cookies along comes Safari 16.4.
Server set FIRST PARTY cookies now max 7 days (conditions described in original PR below).
This aimed squarely at Google Tag Manager but affects every server-side proxy.
It's War on the web.
With Webflow's new @Figma plugin, I wouldn't be surprised if Adobe buys @webflow soon.
They should name the whole stack Dreamweaver :)

The best free email marketing alternatives for small businesses:
@Sendinblue - unlimited contacts and 300 emails day
@MailerLite - 1,000 contacts, 12,000 sends/mo, no daily limit
It was only a matter of time before Intuit put the squeeze on Mailchimp's free plan. I really hate these acquisitions because they are almost never are better for the end user.
Mailchimp reduced their Free Plan limits today to:
Most of content creation in digital marketing is a race to be the first follower.
What's really is "new", anyways?
Someone may be the first (which is a remix itself), but then we're all followers after that. This applies to so much outside of marketing as well.
@Bios4Action@proetrie You missed the point. Otherwise any show critical of society and culture would fall into this category, which imho are the best shows.
But the advice doesn't change - focus on the niches, make genuinely useful video content, and come up with more creative ways to promote your product than just SEO. Marketers, stay nimble!

🔴️ Search in 2021
Google for reviews and recommendations, skim the top ten results, click through to a handful, maybe go to page two to avoid the typical giants dominating the top 3.

🏁️ Conclusion:
Ten results on page one is too much for voice and video results. If you're ranked below 5, don't even bother for these types of searches, AI is squeezing them out.
