In a DGH my first F1 job surgical I definitely held a LOT of risk myself “NEWS 12 your reg is in theatre” “Med reg asked if you can sort this resp failure in cardiac crit care” sure no problem. And I did. Alone.
@NHSEngland@DHSCgovuk@BMA_GP@theHSSIB@CQCProf@gmcuk We lack the resources, capacity and capabilities to meet the needs of our patients if we can’t switch off online requests when we are full
Not to mention mandating we MUST contact the patient THAT SAME DAY no matter how many patients contact us 🤯
Not safe

I am hearing multiple practices are now cancelling appointments to make way for the Wednesday rules.
So rather than offering appts, GPs will now be spending their time picking needles out of haystacks.
What an absolute waste of time. Access instead of Continuity. Sigh.
@Neal94G@Parody_RCGP Total triage itself can be a lottery. Some will find patients overload it with simple queries because they can. Some will have nurses triage some have GP which means less time them seeing patients (in both cases) Online triage platforms also come at a cost themselves.
@DrEilidhMaria I’ve had 2 coils now took paracetamol and ibuprofen beforehand was fine. These were however after the birth of my children about a year later both times. 100% rate them though.
“I’ve spent 5 years in medical training and then 3 years in GP training. And I have struggled to find employment”
@DrCheskaBall – BMA GP Reg Committee co-Chair – shares why we need to #endGPunemployment now.
@DrEmmaNash @SecretPhysician It is for ED 🤣 when I went back to ED as a GPST3 I was seeing double what I saw as ST1 and I was considered “efficient” then…
@VictoriaHMcKay@BMAGPRegistrars How? Your speech was great Victoria! But I feel everything will come too late for many of us who can’t afford to be out of work for months at a time…
Hearing from our GP trainees at #LMCConf@BMA_GP about the unbelievable situation of having gone through 10yrs of training there are no jobs for them. Yet patients wait too long to see a GP. Work with us @wesstreeting@SKinnock@DHSCgovuk to get more solutions to this crisis
GP unemployment is having a devastating impact on GPs and patients.
Today at #UKLMC2025 we gathered to call for urgent action to end this crisis.
We need the additional funding to get GPs into work NOW.
Nigel Farage, "I would advise anybody who is working for Durham County Council on Climate Change initiatives, or Diversity Equity and Inclusion"
"I think you all better really be seeking alternative careers, very very quick"
Beth Rigby, "You talked about people not working from home, you don't like Diversity, a lot of people won't like that"
Nigel Farage, "This is happening, it's not a one off, it's real"
This is not the first time I have seen doctors on #MedReddit suggest the idea of deliberately sabotaging their own appraisal in order to remain employed. @wesstreeting this is absolutely shameful. Medical training in the UK is completely broken.
