As always, I was blown away by the talent and production value of the Junior High performance of Crazy for You. Catch a preview of the musical opening this week Wednesday morning on @GlobalEdmonton. #yeg#yegarts#ouryeg
Junior High students at Victoria School of the Arts held an informal preview of their upcoming musical Crazy for You. They’re calling on Edmonton’s senior citizen community to come out and enjoy their show consisting of Gershwin hits from the 1930’s. #yeg#yegarts#ouryeg
Members of the Crazy For You cast visited @KidsKottageEDM to drop off donations for their program and sing a few songs for the kids. Thanks to all the cast members who brought in items to support the Kids Kottage and their work with families.
For more than 20 years Edmonton Public Schools has held a District Recognition event honouring contributions to the District. Congratulations to Victoria parent & guest artist Will Johnson, teacher-librarian Rachel McOuat & our Arts team who were honoured at this year’s ceremony.
Consider joining us for a circle discussion facilitated by Elder Florence Large Thursday at lunch in Rm 2104. Families & students of all ages are welcome. We acknowledge that this may be a particularly difficult time for some students. Please see Student Services for support.
As we commemorate this day, we hope to raise awareness at Victoria School from kindergarten to Grade 12 as we honour the missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls in Canada.
Thurs., Dec. 6 marks the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. This day was established in 1991 by the Parliament of Canada, marking the anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal.
