I know Senator Godswill Akpabio personally and intimately. He is a man of unimpeachable good character, and both the South-South and Nigeria are fortunate to have him at the helm of affairs at the National Assembly at this delicate stage in our national growth.

On the issue of corruption, here we have a man who has been investigated in and out by independent investigative agencies and friends and foes alike, yet he has come out clean as a whistle.

Nigeria needs stability and men of ability, and it behoves us as a nation to tread with caution at this critical time of our national life. Institutions such as the Legislature should not be trifled with because of partisan considerations.

I will not stand idly by while some persons try, both home and abroad, to destroy an institution I was once proudly a part of.

I am a Nigerian, who is proud of Nigeria, and will give my all to protect and project my country to the world.

I give him my right hand of fellowship and stand firmly with him.

Innuendo, hearsay, and dog whistles will always come. But they can never be so powerful that they will take preeminence over facts.

I sincerely feel sorry for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. If sentiment is put aside, she created her mess. If she had rightly familiarized herself with the details of the Senate House Rule, she would have known the Senate President holds the right to rearrange seats and Senators can only speak from the appropriate seats.

If Natasha had moved to the seat newly given to her, there would not have been this noise that has turned on her. On the second count, she should have submitted the petition on sexual harassment to the Senate and not the media show. She missed it again. On the third count, Senate rule requires a Senator submitting petition can’t sign the petition by self. She signed her own petition and so made it dead on arrival. Whose fault is it that Natasha does not know the House Rule of the Senate?

One critical question to ask is, why couldn’t Natasha get a single Senator to sign her petition, not even from her PDP party? This failure speaks volume to the possible character of the Princess of the Senate. Politics is not always fair and I hope she learns fast.

BUA REFINERY AND PETROCHEMICALS, AKWA IBOM: AN UPDATE

Contrary to a misleading report stating that our 200,000 barrels/day refinery is at 90% completion, BUA wishes to advise the public to disregard such misleading reports that did not emanate from us.

As we make remarkable strides on our Akwa Ibom refinery project, we are proud to share that construction is progressing steadily. Whilst the refinery is not at 90% completion, we are however on track to meet our delivery timelines in collaboration with our partners. This BUA Refinery & Petrochemicals project represents a major milestone in strengthening Nigeria’s refining capacity and energy security.

Our other energy projects, including the construction of a mini-LNG plant and several new hybrid power plants across the country to add additional capacity to our over 1,000MW installed captive power generation capacity, are also progressing rapidly.

If the only issue is the VAT sharing formula, @taiwoyedele and his team have done an excellent job

Note VAT is not the top contributor to FAAC

This bill will REDUCE the tax 90% of Nigerians pay, including the illegal taxes collected. I am yet to see a bill that has been proposed to be as progressive as this in Nigeria

The idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar while we stand by and watch is OVER.
