-I can’t really get an understanding of the defense. They play well, except when they give up a big play and in the red zone.
-Brian Mason has been the best assistant coach hire from the offseason. His special teams has been consistent and great.
I’ve never watched a more boring, unimpressive 23 point win before. I don’t think Notre Dame answered any of their questions yesterday.
-Tommy Rees, the play caller, is actually pretty good. Tommy Rees, the personnel manager and QB developer? He’s pretty bad.
No need to regret this tweet. All Irish fans should be paying close attention to the transfer portal in December/January.
Card/Ewers would be fantastic.
Other names I’m keeping an eye on:
Cade McNamara
DJ Uigalelei
Devin Leary
Our QB room stinks.
Im gonna regret this tweet.
If Hudson Card/Quinn Ewers enter the transfer portal do you take a chance on them if you’re the Irish? Or is there another QB you’d want in the QB Room?
NB: Jack Tuttle (Indiana), Hank Bachmeier (Boise), & Isaiah Knowles (Navy) are in the portal now
Wowzers. Check out this 62-yard touchdown run from #NotreDame running back commit Dylan Edwards. @dylan_edwards02

The defense isn’t bad, but I wouldn’t consider them good either.
The least opportunistic Irish defense I’ve seen since BVG and they create zero splash plays.
@ZK21084795@VictoryLapIrish "The Golden hire was bad"
His defense has held every single one of our opponents to less than their avg in total yards
Most points they have given up is 32 to UNC which is below their avg
There is a lot to clean up on D, but I won't hear it that they are the reason we're here
Some notes from Notre Dame’s piss poor performance last night:
-Rees needs to go. To say the play calling was head scratching would be putting it nicely.
-We found out why Buchner won the job in the summer.
-The defense lacks fundamentals and misses way too many tackles.
Cardinal rule for the week is to pace yourself while tailgating. The extra 4-5 hours of tailgating really gets to people. No one likes a drunk idiot that requires supervision. Don’t be that guy!
We are recapping Notre Dame's 28-20 victory over BYU. They have a home game for the first time in about a month this weekend against Stanford. We will talk about that too.
Drop your questions below!
Notre Dame defeated #16 BYU last night, 28-20.
The team seems to have righted the ship and are moving in the right direction. Drew Pyne was excellent last night. He reminds me of Tommy Rees with his pre snap reads and checks.
Tommy Rees does such a good job of scheming Mayer into favorable matchups and putting him in positions to succeed.
A Jayden Thomas coming out party! The offense could a lot more of that this season.
Very, very excited about the future of the Irish backfield.
Dylan Edwards is so damn dynamic. Notre Dame looks to be in great shape for Jeremiyah Love too.
Let’s hope JD Price can return to form after he recovers from his injury.
Notre Dame should have success running the ball. I think the three RBs are primed for another big game. Look for Tyree to maybe break one tonight. And like most teams, BYU will not have a player on their roster that can cover Michael Mayer.
