Given the number of cups you have a day part of the addiction will be the physical habit/routine/bodily motion of drinking those cups (like a smoker is mentally attached to the routine of their smoke breaks as part of their addiction).

First step I would take is swap out the coffee for tea (less caffeine) but maintain the average number of cups a day. After that you can start reducing the number of cups and/or swap from black tea to green tea (another step down in caffeine).

After awhile once your caffeine dependency is reduced you can incorporate a cup or two of coffee back into your routine if so desired.
