There’s something a bit baffling about a patient in hospital with covid who is unvaccinated because “I don’t believe in modern medicine”, but wants to be for full escalation and ITU. Do they think ITU treatment is based on the four humours and healing crystals?

Wt loss, fatigue, raised ESR/CRP. Normal CT and MRI spine. Negative blood cultures. Transthoracic ECHO - no vegetations. FDG PET-CT demonstrates high-grade (>>liver uptake) diffuse murally based FDG uptake in the aorta extending from aortic root (4.5cm) to aorto-iliac system.

Extensive LVV inc. bilateral lower limb and extracranial arterial disease. Axial CT, PET and fused PET-CT imaging (proceeding cranially) demonstrates ICA, ECA and vertebral artery uptake, V3 segment uptake (as it loops around C1/C2), ECA uptake in parotids 1/2
