Always wanted to have your own hydroponic unit? 🌿Are you a female and would you like to support our research on increasing B12 and iron levels using recipe recommenders? Or do you simply want access to 100+ vegetarian recipes? Read more here: https://t.co/qAEYwTPLRk
Are you attending #SETACEurope2021 organised by @SETAC_world? Check out the (4!) talks & discussion sessions from our team-members.
We contribute with 3 talks to the session: "Multiple Stressor Effects in Aquatic Organisms and Ecosystems under a Changing Climate" (1/n)
📢New #mosquito paper out! Our PhD student @MengShandong, together with postdoc @ViennaDelnat and previous lab-member @TTam_Tran, show how important temporal aspects (exposure duration) can be when stressors have interactive effects, e.g. pesticides & temperature. (1/3)
Can mosquito larvae deal with a pesticide after already been stressed by heat-spikes? Our PhD student @MengShandong will tell you all about it in his talk tomorrow (Feb 25th) at 9:25AM, at the Young Environmental Scientists Meeting #YES2021#SETACYES@studentsofSETAC @SETAC_world
We kick off our twitter adventure by congratulating PhD student @TheysCharlotte for her 1st international conference talk at #NAEM2021! She reveals interactive effects of fluctuating & mean temperatures with pesticide exposure on freshwater isopods.

Our work "#Resistance to a chemical #pesticide increases vulnerability to a #biopesticide: effects on direct mortality and mortality by #predation" is now published in Aquatic Toxicology. For free available at https://t.co/fKt6V6XAH1 till November 19. #mosquitoes#vector
@takeatoothbrush We use stretched parafilm to make a bag and placed it on a petri dish on a heating block keeping it at 37°C. I had to feed an hour before the lights turned back on in the morning. We rub the bag over our arm and breath air over it once it is in the cage. Watch out with garlic...
@OlmVirus We use plastic trays of 45 x 30 x 7.5 cm filled with 5L tap water which we cover with nettings (made with sheer curtain and an elastic cord sewed in). We use this modified children's toy to catch insects which we prolonged with a plastic tube to reach the back of the tray.
@Nedim_Tuzun teaching us that higher tenperatures (in the city) do not always lead to higher growth rates, because associated longer growing seasons can relax seasonal time constraints animals experience and slow down growth #damselflies#SEBAMM@SEBiology
