@Mpolymer@BulwarkOnline Yup, at some point in the not-too-distant future, I may still in an empty batting cage with a bucket of torn up baseballs and shed a few tears.
@hubert_wetzel@Mpolymer@BulwarkOnline Those leagues are out there, but (unlike youth leagues) you need to seek them out. In the DC area, there are even baseball (and of course softball) leagues for those of us well over 50.
@Sowell33 Chase is a gamer! One of the few bright spots yesterday and in the season so far. Looking forward to watching him continue to grow into that big oak tree!
@tonyposnanski I'm not sure why this is even an internet controversy. If I'm so lucky as to get a ball at a game, I'm not looking around my section for a kid to give it to. I'm not elbowing him out of the way and ripping it from his hands, either, but that's not the issue here.
@lee_w18 Yup. With the lockout looming, it's almost certain they'll retain Boone. He's already under contract for another year, and they won't want to deal with the possibility of hiring and on-boarding a new manager who can't meet with his players until the lockout ends.
@MichaelFranzese@GavinNewsom I appreciate your contributions on this platform, and respect your opinion. I strongly disagree that his intentions are generally good, though, unless you mean for him, his family, and his cronies. I think he’s fleecing the country (you and I both) - inflicting huge damage.
@AdamZHerman Is that equal parts a comfort level for the returners, and bringing in new guys who will play the way he wants them to? Very small sample size, but the new pieces seem to be great fits for what they needed and want to do.
@dantelives13@AdamZHerman Some of that, and then bringing in guys with speed and tenacity to play as they are now. Then you gotta get them all to buy in. So far, so good, and this is once again a fun team to watch. They'll give teams fits as a very difficult team to play against this year.
@dantelives13@AdamZHerman I'm not sure if it's a philosophical/tactical change or a personnel change (maybe a bit of both), but their forecheck is ferocious. They play "defense" by playing offense and keeping the puck in the other team's end. So much more fun (and comforting) to watch protect a lead.
@MichaelFranzese@GavinNewsom Hmmm, his ramblings are generally incoherent and rambling, so it’s difficult to tell but maybe. Of all the cities in the US, though, why would he single out 2 cities which are notoriously liberal as cities he really wants to “save”?
@PhillySlasher@TDsTake No, he said they didn't lose EVERY time (every snap) but also didn't win at all. In other words, some snaps were just a draw, but they didn't win any. Pretty honest, truthful, and damning comment about their play - critical of coaches and players.
@CaptDrMark@markknopfler57 Yes, as mentioned a few times in these comments, I think The Anthem in DC would be perfect. I'd love to see him at Wolftrap, too, if he came here in the summer.
