Highly appreciable that the Karnataka govt has declared holiday on the death of the most respected artist Mr. Girish Karnad. Earlier holiday had been declared on the death of Mr. Kalburgi also. A very good gesture that they are giving due respect to people other than politicians.

@msaparna Ma'am, The formalities for opening an account varies from bank to bank. You need to have atleast 2 I'd proof + 2 pass port size photograph & the minimum balance and then fill the application form. The application form of each bank varies. Say from 2 pages to 5 pages.

@Tauratall Ma'am, It's happening that govt is interfering in the affairs of all the autonomous bodies like the RBI, the CBI, the supreme court. When the sanctity of all these bodies are at stake, we cannot be sure of what kind of changes is going to happen in the next 5 years.
