Was ethanol blending in petrol a scientific decision, a financial decision, or a political one? If it’s scientific, show us the data. If it’s financial, explain the economics. If it’s political, be honest about it. Citizens deserve transparency-not assumptions.
In the egg-in-midday-meal debate, the most insensitive comments I’ve seen so far:
“There is no malnutrition in 🇮🇳 .”
“They can eat egg at home.”
“Protein intake isn’t the government’s job.”
I served on a school committee where 10-11-year-olds chewed gutkha to suppress hunger.
Today's Telegram ban is proof of why an indigenous social media or messaging app can never grow in India.
If @durov was Indian, he would be in jail along with his entire team and his entire infrastructure seized because a question paper was supposedly leaked on Telegram. It would have taken a few months to get bail. Line of FIRs stretching to Kanyakumari. Court cases dragging on for a decade or more. TV channels would have gone to town with all kinds of consipracies of how Soros is involved.
We have vaguely written laws, open to the worst interpretation and bureaucratic overreactions. It's not a stable foundation for anyone to build on.
The same applies to now AI. Anyday someone will be offended in this country by anything an indigenous AI generates in text or images and the founders can find themselves in jail and fighting court cases.
Naidu ji, let’s try a thought experiment. Say your salary is 2 lakhs and your driver’s is 20,000. You announce a 50% increase for everybody. Your salary is now 3 lakhs and your driver’s is 30,000. The percentage or proportional increase is the same — but aren’t you much better off than your driver, than you used to be?
That’s what your fellow Southern CMs are concerned about. You don’t think there’s any difference between UP’s 80 MPs today versus Kerala’s 20 MPs, if it tomorrow becomes 120 vs 30? Some proportionate difference, huge difference in political weight — with 90 more UP MPs against 10 more Kerala MPs. Is that of no concern to you at all?
@ncbn@vdsatheesan@INCKerala
Some of you might remember this effort (check below thread) from one of the most traumatic times of our recent past.
Customs has reclassified these as "imported for personal use" & issued a show cause notice + demand of 35L. Can anyone please help 🙏🏾
@Chinmayi@sanjayuvacha
Entire Anna bridgade made sure congress looses coz there was allegedly a coal scam
It later turned out to be a hoax
Now 40 lakh tonnes coal is missing and not a single soul is raising any questions
That’s how far dugged up we are. Govt can get away with anything
He’s not deciding when you can speak or not. He’s telling you when you do - it’s often nonsensical, insincere and vile. You’re not so smart for someone on prime time. Or even generally. And for someone who’s peloing gyan daily, a bit rich to tell others not to pelo no?
When US sided with PAK in the ‘71 war, Indira Gandhi told Nixon to back off.
When US mistreated Indian diplomat, Manmohan Singh removed all security from US embassy.
When US killed 3 Indians in a ship attack, Modi thanked Trump for calling him great leader.
That’s BJP for you
A simple thought experiment: If the two commercial ships attacked by the US military in International waters had Chinese crew instead of Indian nationals, would the US have targeted them? And how would have China responded?
Tells you all you need to know about Modi’s 12 years.
Are we officially a US colony now?
US Secretary of State said in New Delhi yesterday that India has committed to imports of $500 billion from the US over the next 5 years.
Currently, India’s annual US imports are $40 billion. This means PM Modi has COMMITTED to TRIPLE imports from US every year.
Indians are being asked to stop buying gold & avoid foreign trips to save foreign exchange. Why? Just so that Modi can spend $$ on importing things from his masters in the US.
With this commitment, India will spend 15% of our forex reserves annually just on US imports.
Also complete & shameful silence from @MEAIndia on this. Their bureaucrats are probably busy writing long press rants on Covid & Yoga.
Will Govt of India counter Rubio or will PM Modi continue to bow down before the US?
Once you visit small countries like Sri Lanka, Thailand, or Vietnam, or cities like Dubai for the first time and then come back to Indian streets, you realize how much you’ve been scammed by your municipality, local MLA, MP, and the whole system.
#WATCH | Oslo, Norway | MEA Secretary (West) Sibi George responds to question by reporters from Norway - "Why should we trust you?" " Will the PM take critical questions from the Indian Press?"
@thevirdas Yep.
Never saw Vir asking questions to the Mamata government, Or Stalin government, Or Kejriwal.
As if they were perfect administrators and never did no wrong
Modi supporters questions Modi the most.
It is the one sided hypocrites like Vir das has polluted the discourse
Mr. Puri, your OWN government’s data exposes you completely.
You say oil companies are losing ₹1,000 crore/day because crude went from $64 to $115.
But here’s what you’re hiding:
- When crude was $115, you FROZE prices for 137 days straight in 2022; because 5 states were going to elections
- When crude FELL back to $75–80, you still didn’t pass on the relief
- March 2024: crude still at $80+, you cut ₹2/litre; not for relief, for Lok Sabha votes
- Meanwhile IOCL + BPCL + HPCL posted ₹81,000 crore RECORD profit in FY24 (PIB’s own data)
- Modi govt collected ₹38.89 LAKH CRORE in fuel taxes since 2014
The “under-recovery” isn’t because of crude prices.
It’s because you weaponised fuel pricing for elections for 10 years, and now the bill has arrived.
Who will pay for it? Not BJP. Not Hardeep Puri.
The same ₹100/litre petrol-buying Indian who already paid ₹38 lakh crore in taxes.
