Starting my #buildinpublic journey 🚀. Currently in Week 6 of @100xDevs COHORT 3.0 with @kirat_tw. Going from a complete beginner to a job-ready full-stack dev. Will be documenting everything -- the wins, the bugs, and the confusion. Follow along if you're on a similar path.
Day 50 of #buildinpublic
Missed a weeks - was on a trip to Ujjain
What I learned before the trip:
→ WebSockets & real time apps
→ Broadcast + room based chat app
→ PostgreSQL vs MongoDB
→ Started Prisma ORM
Back home. Back to grind. Will update you on Day 57

Day 35 of #buildinpublic
Watched the @100xSchool podcast "Tweet Less, Work More" and it hit hard
Shifting to weekly updates from now on. Less tweeting. More building & practicing
5 weeks of showing up consistently. That's more than most people make it!

@JacobSobolev@100xDevs@kirat_tw Hey Jacob, thanks!
The hardest part was properly typing Request/Response with Express + Zod (especially req.body + middleware types).
Fought the compiler for a while but it finally clicked.
Appreciate the encouragement!
Day 34 of #buildinpublic
UPDATE: I did it!
Built the TS backend completely from scratch.
No reference. No hints.
Was stuck on a "basic" thing for 3 days
But that struggle made it stick forever.
Moving to the next lecture today

Day 32 of #buildinpublic
Tried building a basic TS backend 3 times yesterday. Still couldn't do it without looking at reference
Thought: if I can't do this, how will I perform at a job?
So today's challenge - Build it completely from scratch. No reference. No hints.

Day 31 of #buildinpublic
Back after 2 days - was ill
Reality check in Week-15
Understood lectures. Practised everything. Harkirat said "Build this yourself"
I froze. Errors everywhere
Lesson: watching ≠ building
More practice. Less passive learning.

@yabsssai@kirat_tw@100xDevs Thanks for the advice! I haven’t tried breaking it down further yet. Usually when I sit down, my only goal is to finish 1 lecture + practice it completely in a day.
I’ll try splitting it into smaller chunks and see how it feels, might help reduce the pressure.
Good suggestion!
