@ThePlumLineGS I was one of them. I served for 6 years in an appointed position on a Virginia city school board. Our city council was recently taken over by right wing loonies tho so I imagine people are going to push for elected here now too so our SB doesn't get destroyed.

@ThePlumLineGS Elected boards can help that but getting good people elected to the school board means you now have to find people who not only want to serve in this awful climate but who are willing to run for election. A lot of people who want to serve don't want that. Especially these days.
