@kaiser_doge@Broomstikus@toniwoni08@jnkpanthress For his violence. Seriously, think about this poor woman, and what she has been through, because trying to frame her FEAR as malicious or wrong. She did not endanger other women. HE DID! Redirect your anger. (4
@kaiser_doge@Broomstikus@toniwoni08@jnkpanthress And yeah, the immigration issue is also traumatising. Can you seriously not empathize with her being afraid to report a man whose family could be innocent in relation the crime and at risk of being deported? He could have sisters, nieces, etc, who don’t deserve to be punished (3
@kaiser_doge@Broomstikus@toniwoni08@jnkpanthress And I am absolutely horrified by the pervasive lack of empathy for this woman, who endured great violence and is now receiving harassment or being made to feel morally culpable for being too afraid to go to the police. (2)
@kaiser_doge@Broomstikus@toniwoni08@jnkpanthress Dude I’m not even American the ONLY person I’m on the side of, and who I’m advocating for, are VICTIMS, who, after enduring so much trauma are further traumatised by the public who expect them to be ready to be a hero, when they’re still actively recovering from an ASSAULT. (1
@Broomstikus@toniwoni08@kaiser_doge@jnkpanthress Redirect this energy into shaming the justice system for their incompetence and poor response to assault. Direct it to rape culture and people saying/doing things to support it. Leave victims ALONE! You are not helping anyone, you are only aiding the culture that silences victims
@Broomstikus@toniwoni08@kaiser_doge@jnkpanthress blaming victims isn’t going to make them stronger or more likely to report the crime. You’re just going to further traumatised an abused person and make others less likely to speak out against their assailants, for fear of retaliation abt not being a “responsible” victim 😕
@Broomstikus@toniwoni08@kaiser_doge@jnkpanthress making victims of sex crimes personally responsible for not “putting a stop” to the violence of the men who violated them IS victim blaming. The justice system is hostile to survivors. Only 4-9% of reported rapes result in a conviction(source: RAINN), even when women do report
@pistol_eye5@jnkpanthress I’m not trying to argue that he shouldn’t have faced consequences, but putting so much moral culpability on a traumatised rape victim for not going to the police(who’re hostile to victims) is insane. She was a VICTIM trying to navigate a horrific experience. HE endangered women
@lezfem@jnkpanthress Said this already but once again: I’m not trying to argue that he shouldn’t have faced consequences, but putting so much moral culpability on a traumatised rape victim for not going to the police(who are often hostile to assault victims) is insane
@frogwithautism@jnkpanthress Which is absolutely terrible but I don’t think it’s hard to understand why she made the decision she did. She endured a great trauma and then, understandably, couldn’t handle the weight of potentially being “responsible” for leading the police to his family.
@blondedmachina@M3te0rite I agree that a tube would be a good option, but medicine and refeeding plans aren’t as straightforward as you guys are making it out to. If she’s allergic to everything she’s listed, she could be sensitive even to ENSURE and other refeeding products..
@Donteat_fuck2@M3te0rite Not really how it works, trying to reverse allergic malnutrition. I was allergic to most ENSURE products, which made regaining weight after allergic issues very complex. If her allergies are as complex as she says, re-feeding isn’t a walk in the park
@sapphyreblayze To adults, which is worriying considering, as mentioned, meds impact children differently due to their growing brains. I’m medicated for bipolar 1, and as an adult, it’s been amazing. The same meds made me suicidal as a child. Don’t shut down dialogue children need. (5)
@sapphyreblayze This is a very delicate conversation and not that simple. Yes stigma around psych meds is bad. But that does not mean people can’t have an open dialogue around overprescription. Children’s brains are structurally different from the adult brain, and respond (1)
@sapphyreblayze In the same way we preform studies and med trials on adults, due to the complicated ethics and inability to put children through double blind trials. This means we have significantly less data on the effects of psych meds on minors compared (4)
@sapphyreblayze For children as it is for adults. It’s amazing that you had such a positive experience, but that doesn’t discount the documented differences between medicating children and medicating adults. Another thing to consider, is that hard to preform studies on medicating children(3)
