Sooo yeah. The only things I use the platform formerly known as Twitter for nowadays is checking notifications (and I don't get many of those anymore), and retweeting @TheVikingsUK, and you should all just follow them directly if you are interested in Viking-Age re-enactment. 🙂
So I'm going to request my archive for the last time, and then probably lock my account once I have it. Or just abandon it, like I did with LiveJournal and DreamWidth.
I am @[email protected] over on Mastodon. I'm not *very* active there either, but still more than here.

We look forward to going back to @ushawdurham next year, and hope you will join us!
The Village community of the Vikings, single-storey frame wooden houses thatched with reeds. When the Vikings went “on tour” they used wooden framed tents. In our camps you see wide, striped sails under which we craft, repair kit, cook meals and gather for songs and sagas.

The hearth is the heart of the home & to almost every aspect of Viking life. Flint & steel create a spark which builds to a roaring furnace for smelting metal, a simmering flame to cook dinner or glowing embers to gaze into as the cold evenings draw in. https://t.co/iXqT2TjlpG

I am sure you have noticed that I have been posting a lot about the National STEM Challenge. Since Mythbusters, I have been part of so many science fairs and engineering festivals. The ones in DC, that included kids across the country always brought me a profound hope for the future.

A selection of photos showing off the warriors and combatants from the past weekend at Battle Abbey. The day started with a warriors of 1066 display showing the different weapons of the period, before culminating in the reenactment of The Battle of Hastings to close out each day.
