The Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Mr. K. Sanjay Murthy, warmly welcomed Mr Dasho Jamtsho, Auditor General of Bhutan, to the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, New Delhi, on 10 April 2026.

On this occasion, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) was renewed and signed, reaffirming the longstanding and cherished partnership that has flourished between the SAI of India and the Royal Audit Authority of Bhutan.

The renewed MoU reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to deepen cooperation in the domains of public sector auditing, capacity building, professional knowledge exchange, and mutual learning. The agreement stands as a testament to the enduring ties of friendship, trust, and collaboration between India and Bhutan.

The Indian delegation comprised Mr. K. S. Subramanian, Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General (HR, IR, Coordination and Legal), and Mr. Vimalendra Patwardhan, Director General (IR) while SAI Bhutan was also represented by Mr. Pema Wangda, Personal Secretary; Mr. Wangchen Dorji, Planning Officer; Mr. Wangda Rinzin, Finance Officer; and Ms. Sonam Pelmo, International Relations Officer.

shared Russia’s system of Unified Vendor Records linked to the Central Treasury for assessing vendor performance prior to public procurement tender allocation, and agreed to share further insights with SAI India.

SAI Russia being the Chair of the INTOSAI Working Group on Public Procurement Audit, H.E. Ms. Galina Izotova invited India to participate in the Annual meeting of the Working Group to be held in July in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Both institutions reaffirmed their strong commitment to bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on advancing shared priorities in public sector auditing, digital transformation, and accountability in governance.

🇮🇳🤝🇪🇬 On the sidelines of the 5th BRICS SAI Leaders' Summit, CAG of India Mr. K. Sanjay Murthy held a warm and constructive bilateral meeting with the President of the Accountability State Authority of Egypt Counsellor Mohamed El-Faisal Youssef.

SAI Egypt expressed keen interest in SAI India's capacity building programmes, particularly the pioneering AI/ML Capacity Development Programme developed in collaboration with IIT Madras, a testament to India's growing leadership in audit innovation and technology.

Both SAIs agreed to work in close collaboration for the upcoming INTOSAI Knowledge Sharing Committee (KSC) and INTOSAI WGITA meetings- graciously agreed to be hosted by SAI Egypt and Chaired by SAI India.
