“If you think the world is selfish and rotten, go to the cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer overlooking Omaha Beach. See what one group of men did for another on D-Day, June 6th, 1944.” — Andy Rooney
The generation that fought on D-Day is leaving us with each passing day. Our responsibility is to ensure their example does not.
Today, I remember their courage. I honor their sacrifice. And I recommit myself to serving those who followed in their footsteps. #DDay2026#DDay
I have always found D-Day to be one of the most humbling moments in American history.
On June 6, 1944, thousands of young Americans stepped into landing craft knowing many would never return home. They did it anyway.
We must help veterans access the benefits they earned. We must provide quality care to those who need it. We must ensure that those who wore the uniform are treated with dignity, respect, and gratitude long after their service ends.
"You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world." - General Dwight D. Eisenhower D-Day Letter #DDay #LetWeForget
In 1952, Dwight Eisenhower stops to compose himself during a luncheon honoring D-Day veterans. He later wrote, “The courage, devotion and faith which brought us through the perils of war will inevitably bring us success in our unremitting search for peace, security, and freedom.”

My top priority is keeping New Jerseyans and our communities safe – and an increased ICE surge in the area outside of Delaney Hall is a threat to public safety. We know that lives would be at risk were that to happen. And I will not accept that risk.
That is why last night, the New Jersey State Police Public Safety Response Team acted to secure the area outside of Delaney Hall. This was absolutely necessary to protect public safety, and avoid escalation from ICE. As Americans, we have a right to protest – and we will continue to ensure New Jersey residents can peacefully exercise their First Amendment rights.
Today and going forward, I urge everyone who is protesting to do so peacefully in the safe areas, and work together to bring the temperature down. We need to focus on advocating for better conditions for the detainees, for their families, and ultimately, for the closure of Delaney Hall.
Memorial Day 2026. I was up and down New Jersey. Rainy, wet, and humbling. When we consider that more than one million Americans have given their lives in defense of the United States, our duty is to honor and remember that sacrifice throughout the year. God bless their memories and the families and loved ones who grieve their loss.
“This decision should serve as a wake-up call. The court made clear these facts were ‘undisputed.’ That matters. It demonstrates that the law is not unclear or outdated, as the industry has repeatedly claimed. Veterans deserve qualified, accredited representation — not companies exploiting loopholes and charging illegal fees.” - VFW General Counsel John Muckelbauer https://t.co/h0tbbBHabV

On Memorial Day, we remember these heroes, and all the sons and daughters of the United States who gave, in the words of President Abraham Lincoln, “the last full measure of devotion.”
Let us lift up those whom they left behind. Across this great state and country, there are family members and friends grieving the loss of loved ones who never returned home. We mourn alongside them. We hope that they may find some comfort in the honor and respect that we render.
Lest we forget. 🇺🇸

I promised transparency with New Jerseyans every step of the way as we craft our 2027 state budget.
April revenues came in stronger than expected, but we’re staying clear-eyed about the fiscal challenges ahead. That’s why we’re cutting another $50 million from our proposal, bringing the structural gap down to about $1.5 billion.
I am making disciplined, responsible choices now to protect New Jersey’s financial future and create opportunity for every family in our state.
On #PeaceOfficersMemorialDay, we honor the federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who were killed or injured in the line of duty.
Here in NJ, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect others. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
