The brilliant comedy carpet in Blackpool was the brain child of artist Gordon Young & designer Andy Altman. It celebrates comedians who have played here. Sadly, Andy, who was a friend, died recently. I hope the carpet is looked after in memory of him & all the comedians
@SamJayComic Yeah definitely. I sort of forget that there's growth in the craft because I've only ever seen the snippets of the end product and been in the mood to enjoy it rather than critique it.
@SamJayComic Guardian. I do wonder if it's because of that thing where seeing something at a certain venue means you approach with preconceptions about what the event should be. Edinburgh is a good equaliser for that.
Thank you BBC PROMS & @BBCRadio3 for this unforgettable opportunity 💐 How special to have so many friends and family there too, including my music teacher from school, Mrs Ratcliffe ♥️ Jimmy Nail in the audience too! 😭 Thank you to everyone who watched, listened or showed love.
At 1pm today, in a change to our advertised programming, @BBCRadio3 broadcasts one of Alfred Brendel’s final recitals — recorded at @SnapeMaltings in 2008, and linking four of the composers closest to him across his six-decade career: https://t.co/eu8mBhojzT
Masterly @secondmentions technique in this classical music article from The Critic magazine, whereby the obscure 18th century Hamburg composer Georg Philipp Telemann is transposed into "this Hanseatic note-spinner".
