@DeFiChronicles Perhaps the regular 3-6 months of expenses saved on an emergency fund is rather insufficient for your life situation.
Crypto is speculative driven and extremely volatile, I'm guess that's why your brain is telling "this is not enough for a rainy season"
@DeFiChronicles Set yourself a portafolio target on USDC or Dominican pesos that would allow you to have a better night of sleep. La Salud no tiene precio.
This cycle has done a real good job of absolutely draining the resolve of many before what is arguably the most aggressive multi-year cycle finale we have seen in 7 years.
You're not the only one who is feeling it- believe me I am a pretty patient guy but even I am getting impatient here.
Reign it in. You worked your ass off to get this far, don't give up or lose focus at the finish line.
Focus for a few more months and let's bring it home fam.
Think $Trump might be the most bullish & bearish event in crypto.
- The president just showed how quickly you can create wealth in crypto.
- If there was ever a big onboarding event for normies this is it.
- This is probably the biggest signal of deregulation for the next four years.
But...
- This will be used as firepower to overregulate once Trump is out of office.
- This is the green flag for celebs & influencers to extract value from people who don't know better.
- Crypto is inherently partisan at this point.
The space may as well give up on being serious for now. The biggest value prop for crypto imo has always been creating a faster rail for speculation and fundraising.
Anyone can spin up a token and get funded.
One day everything will be tokenized. People, Real estate, attention. Everything.
In the long term. Well I don't want to think about the long term.
How NOT to Roundtrip the Cycle
I was in Las Vegas a decade ago for my friend’s bachelor party.
We had some time to kill before heading to XS. And there was an empty table of BlackJack calling for us.
"Fuck it, let's gooooo"
We sat down at the table and started playing. We were HOT. My friend did something interesting. Everytime he won a big hand, he’d literally take some chips off the table.
Win $100? He’d ask the dealer to break it down into $25 chips. Then he’d take a single $25 chip and put it in his pocket.
We kept planning for another hour. It was up and down, and eventually we hit a losing streak. It felt like the dealer got 7 face cards in a row.
I was down 50%. But I kept playing because I needed to breakeven. I couldn't go into the club with an L.
Eventually, I lose the money that I came in with. It wasn't much ~$500. But damn that affected my vibes for the rest of the time.
My friend did lose all of it too.
But wait. He he had several hundred dollars worth of chips in his pocket. He was up after all.
Why? Because he was taking profits on the WAY UP. Once the chips went into his pocket, they never went back on the table.
Buying is easy.
Selling is hard.
That’s why almost everyone roundtrips the cycle. You look at your portfolio and you think to yourself, “Just 2 more months of this price action and I’ll be set for life.”
So, you risk on.
Then there's going to be this big moment (or several of them).
It's the big crash. But you don't know if it's going to reverse (like the past 3 days), or if this is the top of the market.
Eventually, one of the crashes WILL be the top.
The problem? Everyone’s talking about how this time is different. It’s going to be a super cycle. A.I.’s changing the world. Trump’s the first Crypto president.
All the smartest guys on your timeline are bullish, but they're exiting behind the scenes.
This happens every cycle.
I took some chips off the table today. I'm transfering some to BTC in a cold wallet, and some will be used for farming in Stablecoins.
These tokens will NOT be deployed anymore for the rest of the cycle.
This is round one. There's going to be a round two, and more rounds.
I'm taking profits on the way up.
I'm still bullish, but I've done a few things:
1. I've guaranteed that I'm not roundtripping this cycle. I'm just playing with my "profits" for the rest of the cycle.
2. I'm more disciplined. When your portfolio gets too big, you start being reckless. You start throwing 5-figures into random shitcoins without research just because you saw someone shill it. A slightly smaller portfolio means I'm more locked in.
3. I'm training my taking profits muscle. I can't imagine never dancing before, and expecting to do well in a dancing competition. Selling is a skill. How can you expect to sell at the top perfectly if you barely sell?
Know your goals and play your own game.
