@EducationLaw2 Students do have rights at school. In the 60s students wore arm bands and had sit ins to protest the war. See this link. https://t.co/voV3Kv3wLj #educationlaw2@educationlaw2
@EducationLaw2 They di have the right to a peaceful protest, but I was wondering what will administration do if they are wearing something that is not allowed for dress code @educationlaw2#educationlaw
@BoehmKelley@EducationLaw2 I agree that students have the right to a peaceful protest. How do we handle it if what they want to wear violates a dress code?
@EducationLaw2 Yes students do have the right to advocate at school as long as it is done peacefully and doesnt cause major disruption..
As in the 60s when we were having sit ins to protest the Vietnam war
@HuckabeeErica@EducationLaw2 If the.students are using quality curriculum and materials, then they will receive a quality education..some online curriculum such as K-12 would be equitable to public school.
@DerisoHope@jarretleebarnes@_KatybGriffin@EducationLaw2 You are confusing FAPE with LRE. All children are to have an education, no matter what type of school they are in. They may have to go to a juvenile facility but they still have to have an education.
@cara_windham@EducationLaw2 I agree if a parent is using a quality curriculum and materials the children will receive equivalent education or better than public school.
@AvisusR@EducationLaw2 I agree that if done correctly homeschooling can definitely be an equivalent education or better. My nephew is homeschooled using a quality curriculum and he is far ahead of students his age.
@DavisSummerlin@EducationLaw2 Hi Davis. It sounds like you are confusing free education with least restricted environment. Every child deserves a chance learn, but some may have to be in a self-contained environment if they have severe disabilities. @education law2 #educationlaw2
@Teresa41908388 Hi Teresa. I agree with your statement that every child is entitled to FAPE. A child with a disability needs education same as other children if not more so. As a special educator I see first hand how these children can blossom with the right support. #educationlaw2
@EducationLaw2 I have seen severely disabled students learn, even if only how to eat. Why should they be denied FAPE just because they are challenging to teach? Without FAPE we might be denying these special children a chance to have a better life. I support FAPE.

@EducationLaw2 I believe that homeschooling can be equivalent instruction when homeschooled students perform well on standardized tests. Studies have found "homeschooled students outperform public school students on standardized tests" (Muscatine, 2005). @educationlaw2#educationlaw2
