Coordination of government departments in Hubballi-Dharwad!

I raised a grievance with HDMC regarding non-working streetlights across the BRTS corridor at many places. HDMC replied that “BRTS road streetlight maintenance comes under BRTS Limited, as they haven't handed over the maintenance to HDMC.”

For the stretch from Jubilee Circle to Narendra Cross in Dharwad, HDMC said it comes under the jurisdiction of the PWD NH department and asked me to contact them.

When I raised the grievance with the PWD NH wing, they responded, “The road does not belong to PWD Dharwad Sub-Division.”

Regarding unscientific humps across the BRTS mixed lane at many places, I raised the issue with HDMC under the road category. The request was transferred to PWD, which replied, “The issue raised about this road does not come under Public Works Department. The road is maintained by Hubli Dharwad BRTS.”

Departments are playing a pass-the-ball game in Hubballi-Dharwad. In other cities, streetlight maintenance comes under the respective ULB, but here @HdmcHubliDwd still does not have control over streetlights of many roads.

The public is suffering due to a lack of coordination between government departments.

Need intervention of our elected representatives.

It’s really heartbreaking to see the condition on IT Park Road, opposite Old Bus Stand and Court Circle area. 💔

Citizens walking, people on two-wheelers and autos, even the traffic police @HDCityTraffic standing there every day — all are forced to breathe this thick dust due to the ongoing flyover work. 😷

How long should people suffer like this? Why can’t the flyover contractor at least do temporary asphalting to suppress the dust?

I sincerely request the authorities — please have some mercy on the citizens 🙏 and speak to the contractor to take immediate action before people start falling sick.
