What an amazing way to engage Div 1 in reading and thinking. We are studying origin stories from around the world. Each pair is telling the story in their own way. Today was storyboarding and planning out scenes to create. SO. MUCH. ENGAGEMENT!! #sd37#storystudio
It warms my heart to see my 6/7’s take ownership of their classroom jobs. They apply and have a job for the whole term. These library managers decided on their own to organize, label & make daily recommended books! 😍 #ownership#sd36
Today’s a good day! I had the most amazing practicum experience thanks to my fantastic SA @Visschinspired, FA, and practicum school @English_Bluff. 🥰 @UBCTeacherEd @ubcIBEd
I’ve spent a great deal of time this summer making an Enchanted Forest and garden in the park behind my house. It brings me great joy to hear the littles come by on their walks with their parents & grandparents 🥰. https://t.co/WLCmbGtBzR
This is the culmination and practical application of all the things I want to do in my writing assessment. Thank you for immediately changing my practice and inspiring me to do better. Wow. Just wow. Must read. @jcougle@SD37AFL
This week's post is the #HyperRubric, which shows students where they are, where they can go, and the resources they can use to get there. Thanks to @Mr_Rablin and @SurthrivEDU for sharing. Would love to see how Ts are using this outside of ELA!

Visiting my fave place & see someone cleaning their salmon. I rush over to inspect the insides & a mom is doing the same- Showing her kids the anatomy, stomach, etc. I’m thinking she MUST be a teacher & realize it’s @mmedevries. 1 of my fave Twitter pals & kindred spirits 🥰
We are learning to use symbolism and art to express powerful ideas. Div 1 blew me away with the depth of their responses to the question “What is your message about residential schools?”#storystudio#sd37

How about sharing bulletin boards with parents through a "thinglink?" Use a photo, with links to close up photos when you click on each icon. Soooo easy to make. So proud of our student-created board with art & writing! See link above for actual thinglink.
