Grok will probably be able to generate a full movie by the end of the year. One person, one prompt.
A lot of people building these systems want to take the human out of the process. That's the wrong goal. The human isn't the inefficiency. The human is the point.
Movies are great because of the people. Hundreds of them building something none of them could make alone. Replace that with one person generating a three hour film by themselves and, who cares?
AI should do the opposite. Give people better tools, pull their communities in, help them build together. Empower humans. Don't replace them.

@tekbog the git hosting piece is the tell. its not about storage, its about owning the whole code data loop. every edit, every review, every conflict. githubs moat was being where code lives. move that into the editor and the moat moves with it. and @SpaceX now owns that.
nobody pays $60b for a code editor. ~$2.6b revenue means ~23x for what is basically a vscode fork. youre buying the customer base, the default tool brand, and the data on how millions of devs actually code. the data is the prize, it trains the next grok model.
@iruletheworldmo if that globally part holds, thats the whole ballgame. foreign nationals were the blocked group and theyre a huge slice of the premium sota tier. their access coming back is what actually reverses the revenue hit, not just US customers getting it again.
@KaiXCreator if anthropic cant sell api tokens to foreign nationals, a big piece of the market they projected just vanished. and if it hits international enterprise deals, banks, global firms, the impact on their revenue plans is massive. genuinely unprecedented, worth following closely.
@KaiXCreator it wasnt a guardrails thing, thats the part everyone misses. an export rule blocks any foreign national from access and anthropic cant verify citizenship at inference time, so they had to pull it for everyone. but the real story is the business hit below
working without Fable is hard
everything feels way slower
both 4.8 and 5.5 are much, MUCH dumber than Fable was
I find myself repeating it super-obvious shit every few minutes
these models are just tools
Fable was... something more
