Today, the V&A and partner venues across the UK announce a landmark national tour celebrating the creativity and enduring cultural impact of David Bowie. The film was first released on this day in 1986 in North American cinemas, before opening later in other territories. Meanwhile, this week forty years ago, the Labyrinth soundtrack album reached its UK chart peak of #21, at the same time as the single Underground also peaked at #21 in the UK. Since then, an entire Labyrinth industry has grown up around the film, with an endless stream of collectables keeping fans of Jareth and Sarah—not to mention the host of other lovable characters—happy... and, quite possibly, out of pocket!
