@ianhanomansing I was appalled to open the fridge yesterday and see eggnog. Every year my partner and I go through this. No eggnog until December! It’s not even November. One year, he was respectful enough to cover the container up with tinfoil. Needless to say, it was a quiet evening.😖

Birds give up the complexity of song for volume in noisy places - so they sing louder but less interesting (to both humans & mates) songs in cities. When traffic noise in San Francisco fell due to COVID, birds began to sing more complex, quieter songs like they did 50 years ago!

I hear it all the time when people defend unpaid internships, awful entry-level jobs, student debt, etc.
