Here is my submission for #ElevenHacks@firecrawl@ElevenLabs
Beacon is a voice-first AI assistant built specifically for visually impaired users. You call a number, you talk, Beacon handles the rest.
Built on ElevenLabs Conversational AI, Beacon listens, reasons, and responds in natural speech using a custom voice. It uses Firecrawl Search as its live intelligence layer — fetching real-time weather forecasts, nearby services, load shedding schedules, community safety alerts, and road closures from across the web, then distilling that into clean spoken summaries. No raw data, no screen, no friction.
What makes Beacon different is who it's built for. Most AI assistants assume a sighted user at some point. Beacon assumes limited screen interaction. It's independence — delivered through a phone call. (The number is not "live" as this is in a conceptual state for the hackathon) #ElevenLabsMusic & TTS used.
What's Bullshit
The $50K/month claim — almost certainly fabricated.
Here's why:
YouTube AdSense on Shorts pays terribly. Shorts RPM typically runs $0.03–$0.05 per 1,000 views. At 50M views that's roughly $1,500–$2,500. Not $50K.
To hit $50K from ad revenue alone you'd need 1–2 billion views per month. The math doesn't survive five seconds of scrutiny.
The actual money in this space comes from brand deals, which require audience trust, niche authority, and a human face — none of which a faceless AI channel builds quickly or reliably.
"30 days to a content empire" — Channels with 500K+ subs took years, not months, even with automation.
The engagement model is degrading fast.
YouTube has been actively suppressing repetitive AI-generated Shorts
TikTok's algorithm punishes low-session-time content, and this format's retention is collapsing as audiences get saturated
The "dopamine algorithm" framing is pseudo-scientific dressing on a content strategy that was peaking in 2022–2023
The "Comment STORY" mechanic is the actual product.
This is a classic Twitter/X lead generation funnel:
Make an extraordinary income claim
Attach a believable-looking technical artifact (the workflow diagram lends credibility)
Gate the "free" resource behind engagement actions that boost the post's algorithmic reach
Collect followers/leads → sell a course, a paid Discord, or a "premium workflow pack"
The n8n JSON file is the hook. The course/community upsell is the actual $50K/month business — if there even is one
