@Makerere University School of Public Health was this week delighted to host Dr. Isabelle Uny, Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Associate Dean for Internationalisation (Research) at the Institute for Social Marketing and Health, Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport, University of Stirling (UK).
During her visit, Dr. Uny delivered a stimulating public lecture titled βIntroduction to Policy Analysis and Writing Policy Briefsβ, chaired by Prof. @NazMTumwesigye, an Alcohol Epidemiology and Medical Statistics Subject Matter Expert at Makerere University. Together with the Dean, Prof. @RhodaWanyenze, Dr. Uny and Prof. Tumwesigye explored opportunities for strengthening partnerships between the two institutions.
At present, Prof. Tumwesigye and Dr. Uny are leading research initiatives on the politics of evidence use in alcohol policy in Africa, an area where both institutions are steadily building strong expertise. This visit underscored a shared commitment to expand this collaboration into a deeper, long-term research partnership aimed at delivering greater impact for policy and practice in Uganda and across the region.
