If you’re referring to the earth’s atmosphere, gravity does a perfectly fine job of job of containing it. So no, gas pressure does not require a physical boundary when there is sufficient gravity. This is easily tested by noting atmospheric pressure as you go higher in altitude (hiking up a mountain will do it). It smoothly loses pressure until about 100km altitude, at which point it’s close to vacuum. That gradient is smooth, and has no hard demarcation line.

Spot on! When I was in college I rented a room from a little old lady whose husband was the chemical engineer who invented it. The hard part was exactly what you said.

He took a small vial of it on a train from Los Angeles to DC to present it to the standards organization, but it smelled so bad that the conductor forced him to ride in the cattle car

My wife has voted straight Democrat her entire life, voting however unions tell her to. But she's recently fed up with CA politicians (especially crime and money mismanagement).

This year, for the first time ever, she asked AI to summarize and match her personal values with candidates and ballot initiatives. Guess what? She voted straight Republican and conservative, noting that the ballot initiative titles and summaries were written very sneakily to hide their true intent.

Agreed! Same with socialism: anybody who wants it can just go do it. Buy some cheap land, start a community, get your friends to join, build a bunch of houses and businesses, spread everything out equally, and see how it goes. Or you can start small and give away most of your money to other people who didn’t earn it. No need to wait for Elon to do it for you,,,
