Just in: Nigerians Cover their ears in
horror as Governor Okpebholo uses his Angelic voice to sing a special praise and worship song dedicated to President Tinubu
**Nigeria: A Nation Hollowed Out by Corruption**
THERE'S NO DEMOCRACY TO CELEBRATE π π π π π π
In a country teetering on the edge of collapse, **210 trillion naira** has simply vanished. This is not a rounding error or bureaucratic inefficiency β it is a staggering sum looted from the very lifeblood of the nation. To put it in perspective, this amount could have transformed infrastructure, eradicated extreme poverty, funded quality education and healthcare for generations, and built the kind of resilient economy that lifts millions out of despair. Instead, it has disappeared into the pockets of the powerful while the nation groans under the weight of its own ruin.
Nigeria has become almost the capital of darkness, poverty, and terrorism in the modern world. Once a land of promise and potential β blessed with abundant natural resources, a youthful population, and strategic geographic advantages β it now ranks among the most unequal and insecure places on earth. Bandits terrorize rural communities in the North, insurgents destabilize the Northeast, separatist agitations fracture the Southeast, and criminality festers in the South. Basic services that citizens of functioning nations take for granted β steady electricity, clean water, safe roads, and quality public schools β remain luxuries for the few. The majority survive on the edge, in a perpetual cycle of hardship that breeds frustration and, too often, more violence.
This country has been eaten to its skeletons.
Decades of systemic plunder have left behind nothing but a fragile carcass. The institutions meant to protect citizens have been weakened or captured. Public funds meant for development are routinely diverted. Oil wealth β the supposed backbone of the economy β has enriched a tiny elite while the masses wallow in misery. The physical and social infrastructure that should bind the nation together is crumbling. What remains is a hollow shell: impressive on the surface in a few urban pockets, but rotten at the core.
At the heart of this tragedy lies a toxic symbiosis: **wicked leaders and wicked followers**, all united in the frantic scramble for what to loot. The political class, across parties and regions, has normalized graft, treating public office as a personal ATM. Contracts are inflated, ghost projects are funded, and accountability mechanisms are deliberately sabotaged. Yet the problem runs deeper than just the leaders. A significant segment of the populace has become complicit β selling votes for crumbs, celebrating thieves who βbring developmentβ ( share the loot), and looking the other way when their own βgodfatherβ or ethnic champion is caught in corruption. The βit is our turn to chopβ mentality has replaced any sense of collective responsibility or long-term nation-building.
This is not mere misfortune. It is the predictable outcome of a broken social contract where greed has been elevated above competence, integrity, or vision. Until Nigerians β both leaders and followers β confront this culture of predation head-on, no amount of oil revenue, foreign aid, or borrowed money will rescue the nation from its self-inflicted wounds.
The 210 trillion naira is gone. The real question is: how many more trillions must disappear before the people demand a different path? Nigeriaβs potential remains immense, but time is running out. The skeletons are already showing.

That's how Nigeria has been designed to be in the last 30 years, almost all jobs pay are unable to make you live comfortably, from police to army to civil servants and even hotel staffs, E hailing riders are not left out, they all earn less than what is expected that's why people won't stop cutting corners.
π£οΈ: I had a revenue shortfall of over β¦20 million in my guest house.
π£οΈ: These four staff secretly found out my supervisor's password and eventually got access to mine.
π£οΈ: Whenever guests made payments, they would clear the debts using my login details.
π£οΈ: One person's account had over β¦5 million. I was shivering.
A business owner on #HardFacts with @SheriffQuadry how staff allegedly exploited his guest house's payment system, diverting guest payments and manipulating records over several months. He also shares the measures he has since introduced to strengthen accountability and prevent internal fraud.

Country so poor, you either make quick wealth and become a mega millionaire before 30, or you spend 30 years struggling to become a millionaire.
I hate this society we've dug ourselves into.
