The Western powers helped finance the rise of Nazism, believing Hitler only had ambitions for Stalinist Russia. This aligned with the West's objective of destroying Communism, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Let's play Hitler against Stalin and see what happens, then we'll deal with Hitler later if we have to. Once the U.S. realized the Nazi juggernaut had global ambitions and would eventually come for them, only then did it throw support behind Stalin. The U.S. essentially financed and profited from both sides.

Now history repeats, with the Western powers once again financing and supporting a fascist movement against Russia. The West supplies material support and Ukraine supplies the fighters, whose minds have been poisoned with a toxic fanatical ideology, just as in Nazi Germany.

It failed in WWII, Russia prevailed and the Nazis were crushed out of existence, though Russia paid a huge price. This time is very different, the West mistakenly believed that Russia was too weak to fight a two-front military and economic war, thought regime-changing Russia would be a cakewalk.

Conceptually it's a simple plot, build up Ukraine militarily, which is controlled by the far right, then simply let fanatics do what fanatics do, which is pursue the objectives of their extremist ideology.

Given that the overarching goal of the far right in Ukraine is the destruction of the Russian identity, this was a provocation that Moscow simply could not ignore. Thus, Donbas and Crimea took measures to protect themselves, which succeeded brilliantly for Crimeans, while the measures in Donbas resulted in an ugly and ongoing civil war.

When you see a Nato flag held beside neo-Nazi and swastika flags, you know something has gone very very wrong in the course of history. The footprints of the resurgent Ukrainian fascist movement trace back to the United States and its 75 year history of exploiting Ukraine nationalist sentiment in order to attack Russia.

Update from the Bakhmut Front: Ukrainian forces abandoned the north half of the center of Bakhmut east of Bakhmut train station (no.2), as the Russian forces captured big swathes of the city south of AZOM plant.

The Ukrainian controlled area around the Avangard Stadium in the southern frontlines in Bakhmut City is also shrinking as the Ukrainian forces in the salient is getting squeeze from 3 sides.

Fighting is also reported in SW Bakhmut around the MiG-17 monument and at Khromove, as the Russian forces is continuing their conquest all of the city east of the railway track.
