Has anyone else noticed that FIFA World Cup games on Fox One on Apple TV 4K devices are being shown in SDR and not HDR? Fox One’s HDR works just fine on Amazon Fire TV 4K Max though #FIFAWorldCup#WorldCup
@istrakhov Yes, the overexposure in the highlights is killing the vibe. Can’t figure out how to get Fox One to do HDR or Dolby Vision on their 4K feed.
Message from the Mayor of Torrance:
Tonight, our community joins the nation in condemning the violent incident that occurred in Washington, D.C., during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
It takes me 30 seconds to briskly walk without luggage from the front of an empty plane to the very back. It takes 50 minutes to board a large plane full of more than 200 passengers. During an evacuation we have 90 seconds to get everyone off the plane. Every second counts. If slides are deployed, you need to move quickly. And then you need to run from the plane. Luggage is going to slow you down
I was wrong. People were in fact grabbing their carryon luggage while evacuating the United plane at LAX today. This is unacceptable. These passengers should be prosecuted.
Great video of United Airlines plane being evacuated at LAX earlier today. It was UA 2127 flying from Los Angeles to Newark before it returned to LAX and made an emergency landing. Great to see that passengers were NOT grabbing their carryon suitcases.

@grantlyon31@SouthwestAir I didn’t realize that they had done that. That was one of the best features of A-List, especially for frequent commuter-type travelers. They have definitely turned their backs on their best customers.
NEW: LA’s homeless services chief engaged in major misconduct — including hiring unqualified friends into top positions, trying to destroy public records and behaving inappropriately at a conference — according to whistleblower claims obtained by LAist.

@spottedreptile Definitely a possibility. ATC audio shows pilots were calm and did not declare an emergency. So maybe something was made worse during touchdown? Also, why not kill the engine?
American Airlines flight AA1006 diverted to Denver after experiencing “engine vibrations” and then caught fire at the gate. Possible compressor stall? That usually does not result in engine fires though.
DEVELOPING: An American Airlines Boeing 737 evacuated at the gate at Denver International Airport due to an engine fire, the FAA tells me. The flight from Colorado Springs to Dallas Fort Worth had just diverted to Denever due to an engine vibration.
@PatriotW70@Bubblebathgirl If the plane had gotten engulfed in flames, every second counts to get the plane fully evacuated. Smoke in the cabin disorients & kills fast. Taking time to grab your bag is a big no-no. Lucky no smoke this time but you don’t know that while you’re taking time to grab your bag.
American Airlines Flight AA1006 was flying from Colorado Springs to Dallas. It diverted to Denver Airport and the engine caught fire near the gate. Plane was successfully evacuated, but some passengers were seen taking their large backpacks with them. Here is the flight track:
(3) is frequently blocked by non-premium customers making ticket changes, and hence useless). Alongside with Southwest getting rid of open seating, I don’t see any reason to use them for business travel anymore. They are simply no longer competitive against legacy airlines.
(1) Southwest Airlines announced that they’re getting rid of their free bag policy. They are turning into a legacy carrier. But, unlike legacy carriers, they are missing several key features that will no longer make them a top choice for business travelers:
(2) NO lounges, NO million miler policy, NO seat-back entertainment system, NO free WiFi for everyone (like Delta currently has), NO true in-flight meals, and NO dedicated premium check-in desk (the Southwest Airlines priority check-in desk is shared with regular customers and
