Funny how India is always labelled “second tier,” “emerging,” or “almost there” no matter the sector. When we supply talent, we’re a back office. When we scale tech to hundreds of millions, it’s “informal.” When we build AI differently, it’s suddenly “second class.” These labels aren’t neutral assessments, they’re comfort words for institutions like the IMF that still measure the world through old hierarchies. The problem isn’t where India stands it’s who gets to define the tiers.

As 2025 ends, India can be called the world's best risk-reward investment opportunity over the next couple of years, next decade as well as next generation.

1. ~1.4 billion people with just ~1/33rd of the US in terms of dollar incomes (~1/7.5x in PPP terms) in a world where economic convergence is the new reality after centuries.

2. Fastest growing major economy shows said convergence is not abstract, but actual. Rise of services exports show that if there is talent, there will be a way to harness it in today's tech-enabled world.

3. Low-beta EM as a commodity importer. Does not rise or fall very sharply. The Sharpe ratio of various investments on a full-cycle basis can be very impressive, especially going forward.

4. Gradually more autonomous across capital, technology (including weapons), energy - slow but steady rise on these three related parameters.

5. Undervalued currency not just structurally but cyclically shows this to be an especially apt entry moment. As cycle turns, I expect India's cost of capital to fall more than what most expect.

6. Very stable polity as world's largest democracy, which means one can take very long-term bets in India. Going forward, this democracy will be more urban-friendly and that will have downstream benefits.

7. Latent scale means no middle-income trap, as the more India grows the more it can grow organically and via policy support. Will become a magnet of talent going forward.

8. Median age less than 30. Big demographic window. Huge increase in human capital, and U-curve of female LFP plus inverted U-curve of pollution playing out.

9. Rise of China with a different (state bank heavy) model obscures the returns investors make at this scale and growth. Hence no intuitive sense of what India's rise can be, as there is no muscle memory with China's case.

10. Conservative macro shows others' headwinds are our tailwinds. India has enough arrows in its quiver, as it battles slack to create more jobs.

It was a surreal experience of looking up into a Vimana of 136 feet height and reciting OM in the vacuum. Apart from the engineering aspect, I am awestruck by the fact that the sound of OM doesn’t echo but goes all the way up and disappear.

Rajaraja chola was a blessed man to conceive such an idea and construct such a divine place.

To order a special kind of plasma cutter, first the team was sent to Hyderabad, then the plane was sent to America and a special kind of plasma cutter was brought from there.

Four machines and robots and ground penetrating radar were brought from Switzerland by special aircraft.

A helipad and a working runway were also built at the accident site and a vertical oxygen generator plant was installed at the accident site.
