We’re recalculating election results by considering non-voters to highlight what could be. Ever wondered about the impact of those who are registered but don’t vote?
For years, politicians in NYC have told us they’re “reformers.”
They say they believe in democracy. They say they’re fighting the establishment. They say they’re different from Republicans and machine Democrats.
But when it comes time for a real election, they use the same old tactics: lawyers, objections, court proceedings, technicalities, and ballot challenges to try to kick people off before voters ever get a choice.
Right now, New Kings Democrats, Sandy Nurse, Chris Tate, Alan Gamboa, and folks connected to the DSA/reform political world are participating in the same kind of ballot challenge politics they claim to oppose.
Their lawyer, Mark Hanna, who is also a district leader, is reportedly charging close to $500 an hour in a case aimed at removing Paperboy Prince from the ballot.
Think about that.
Instead of letting the people vote, they would rather spend thousands of dollars trying to stop the election from happening at all.
Most New Yorkers never hear about this because these cases move fast, happen inside courtrooms most voters will never step into, and are buried in legal technicalities. A lot of candidates never even make it to the ballot because they get dragged through this process before voters get to know their names.
We collected nearly double the signatures required to run. Now they’re trying to throw them all out.
I’m representing myself. I don’t have a high-priced lawyer. They know that. My campaign finances are public. Everything we’re doing is public.
And that’s exactly why I’m speaking up.
They call me a joke. They call me a clown. They say I’m not serious.
So why are they so afraid to let the voters decide?
This is not just about me. This is about the way NYC politics really works behind closed doors. Reformers become gatekeepers. Socialists become ballot blockers. The people who say they are fighting the machine start acting just like the machine.
Whatever happens, we’re going to keep going. We’re going to keep spreading love. We’re going to keep fighting. But I need people to see what is happening.
Because democracy should not belong only to the people who can afford $500 an-hour lawyers.
Let the people vote

It seems Monday is your chance to shine!
In the 2024 South Carolina Democratic Primary, over 95% of registered voters stayed home, a stark increase from 2020's 84.76% which is also a stunningly high number!
If Registered Non-Voters were a candidate they win again! @deanbphillips@marwilliamson@JoeBiden
Grateful for the invitation from @SymoneDSanders and MSNBC to discuss why Democrats must use invitation - not condemnation - and promote a new generation of common sense leaders like @GovWhitmer and @RepJeffries.
We will not succeed by coronating leaders of the past when Americans wish to move to the future. It's time for change and it's time for courage. Now.
The turnout in South Carolina was only 131,000, about 4% of registered voters and only about 2.5% of the state’s population. It was well over 500,000 and closer to 16% in 2020. This suggests that enthusiasm for an uncontested Joe Biden is . . . low.
While many in the media report about @realDonaldTrump and @NikkiHaley or @JoeBiden and hopefully @deanbphillips another story unfolds:
With 92% of the votes counted it seems 53.51% of NH registered voters didn't cast their ballot. That's 467,304 potential votes! How does this reflect on our democracy? 🤔 #NewHampshirePrimary #VoterEngagement
If Registered Non-Voters were a candidate they won last nights primary! Our goal with this account is to shine a light on those who are eligible, but either choose not to vote or are prevented from voting for some reason. #USElection2024

With 76% of the vote counted....Three times more Republicans voted compared to Democrats. Both Donald Trump and Nikki Haley individually garnered more votes than all Democratic candidates combined.
#NHPrimary
In the #NHPrimary there are at least 873,359 registered voters. As the race is called and the votes are counted there is another total - the Registered Non-Votes.
If they were a candidate in New Hampshire it is looking like the RNV won in a landslide. Maybe they chose not to vote or maybe they could not make it to the polling station. Whatever the reason - the impact is felt!

@nytimes did keep track of the @dnc "meaningless"
primary - and have done an early call.
If it is meaningless when do NH primary votes count?
@JoeBiden wins with 392 votes?? and counting
@deanbphillips currently above 20%
@marwilliamson outperforming 2020
@PaperboyPrince getting votes!
Just heard @jaketapper on @cnn say "keep watching as we track every vote".
It is vital to track every non-vote as well in this country...including those that are eligible to vote in the election but don't!
In New Hampshire in 2020
@realDonaldTrump got 129,754 votes
@BernieSanders got 76,324 votes
@JoeBiden got 24,921 votes
yet
569,491 Registered Non-Voters
If they were a candidate the RNV won in a landslide!
Will there be a link for @DNC results this evening?
Back in 2020 Donald trump received 129,754 votes and was on the ballot - though @GOP also did not really consider it a contest their candidate was on the ballot. Will he get more or less votes this year?
