A federal judge gave diversity visa selectees 10 more days after finding the Trump administration failed to meaningfully comply with his order to resume processing their cases, moving at what he called a “glacial pace.” https://t.co/ZxPdhd664k
@curtismorrison The Judge Davila's order means nothing for the U.S. Consulate in Tbilisi. They ignore every email and they think they can do anything not to issue a single visa. We believe we have wasted our money on preparation and medicals. They have cancelled 3 issued visas today.
@curtismorrison Mr. Morrison, the situation is alarming at the U.S. Consulate in Tbilisi. Nobody has hope that even a single visa will be issued until 10th of October. They have ordered from Washington not to issue a single visa. We urgently need help from Judge Davila and you.
In Medani v Trump, we have filed our last response to status report for the fiscal year. In this response, we do what defendants have failed to do: show a birds-eye view of how absent court orders, 41,127 unused diversity visas go wasted tonight.
Medani v Trump Order: Judge Davila has ordered "DOS, to the extent practicable and in good faith, shall take all reasonable steps for an additional ten days past the 2026 fiscal year to reconsider FY-26 applications refused solely under the DOS DV Pause or the DOS 75-Country Pause and resume ordinary adjudication of pending applications."
Further, "In response to discussion during the September 29, 2026, hearing, the Court notes that the subclasses in this case encompass all FY-26 Diversity Visa applicants."
👆This would mean it is Judge Davila's view that Ivanov plaintiffs are Medani class members.
Note: this order appears to extend the fiscal year by 10 days for consular process plaintiffs and class members only, and not AOS plaintiffs and class members seeking to adjust status.
