@seanapriori This amount is within the plausible range, the US built environment is inefficient (on the consumption level especially). It is not plausible to me that "half of London buildings being ~5% lower than they could be" costs the economy 50 billion dollars a year. Obvious nonsense!
@seanapriori Sorry, I just looked it up again, I was misremembering the stat. It is not half a floor, it seems. Actually buildings hit by a bomb are about 5% higher (than comparable/nearby buildings that were not hit by a bomb). My mistake!
@seanapriori Their counterfactual seems to be that in a world where the Blitz doesn't happen, the buildings of London all get developed/redeveloped the same way as the London buildings that didn't get bombed did irl. Not an obvious conclusion, I would say.
@seanapriori Honestly I don't believe the framing of their supposed natural experiment either, they do not convince me that "building gets bombed" is a meaningful analogue to just about anything, or that the test populations are not affected by confounding. But that's beside the point.
@cinnamonmaxxer Putting my thinking cap on to decide what stereotypically trans name to give my hateful caricature of trans women who must be expelled. Really cycling through those names. Oh, what about the evil traitor woman demon exile whose great crime was refusing to submit to men!
@VeronStalina instagram page of the only non-dogshit regular lesbian event in the entire city is fucking rereeling this shit, like it's a nice event and aside from the venue being tiny and all of the drinks being shit I really have nothing outside the instagram page to complain about but
@ElokoMode@SAMOYEDCORE@hellspatisserie Successful ethnic minority organized crime has never been a serious barrier to social acceptance, despite the bizarre delusions of a certain class of Italian or Irish American. Quite the opposite in fact.
@EiratheIntern I'm no theologian but could you interpret "as with a woman" as referring to piv sex, and therefore the proscribed sex is piv with pre-op trans men specifically?
@ish99ni Also they rarely have any clue how many members of a minority would constitute a racially balanced selection. They see one member of one minority and think "diverse" because they're not used to large racially identifiable minorities. Anti-black, maybe, but mostly ignorant imo.
@ish99ni But ofc "expat" is precisely selecting for and stereotyped as the loudest and least willing/able to adapt of the type of American who even goes abroad in the forst place. Of course they seem more American than anything else, especially to a non-American.
@DrFreake While you're explaining stuff, what's with the girl growing out her blonde dyed hair? What did she do to you that she shows up twice? Such an odd reflex. Is this also why bottom middle is incongruously talking about queer theory?
@christapeterso Hm has anyone in the Democratic Party ever tried magisterially declaring that Gaza doesn't matter and is very complicated, in the hopes that through the magic of true names their assertion takes priority over reality? I was born yesterday and therefore don't actually know.
@postoctobrist yes we are very good also do not check what the names of our political parties represented in parliament are or what they believe I promise they are normal and fine
