Two military RC-26 aircraft flew 45 wildland fire fighting sorties so far in AZ, CA, ID, MT, NV, OR, UT & WA in support of the U.S. Forest Service. The crews detect hotspots & map fires. The Wash Air National Guard's RC-26 first flew July 8 and the Arizona Guard's on July 31.

An RC-26 aircraft and crew from the @WAANGCC @141ARW are supporting the @forestservice's wildland firefighting response by making infrared images and video of the fires from above. RC-26 crews can detect hotspots before they become fires, and direct teams to those locations.
