Owing to this Saturday’s rail strikes, the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust Roadshow, to be held at the London Transport Museum, has had to be postponed. New date is Saturday 3rd September. I would be most grateful if you could ALL retweet this to help spread the message. Many thanks.
You can almost hear the excited giggles of the team when yesterday's coal delivery arrived.
26.3 Tons arrived from Llantrisant in Wales to enable us to 'keep on steamin' to #Easter and beyond.
We'd love for you to join us in March.

@RailwayMuseum No, this railway was on the flat , they used a ropeway for gradients. This was to allow lightweight locomotives to pull a viable load, heavyweight locomotives broke the cast iron rails!!
In an exceptionally positive gesture, @networkrail have donated the last mainline diesel loco built in Darlington to the town. Built by Robert Stephenson and Hawthorn, D6898 of 1964 looks absolutely resplendent in BR Green, with huge attention to detail.
Over the weekend, a retired pacer carriage was lifted by crane into its new home at Huddersfield based charity, @Platform_1_HD1. The carriage was won as part of @transportgovuk competition to 'Transform a Pacer' and will be used as an educational kitchen for the charity 💙
