@ZaidJilani@greg_price11 genuinely what are you even talking about? i promise you don’t need to incoherently respond to every post you see, you’ll be ok
@SanguineAgnosti this convo is already far and away more thought than many who bluster online have given this issue, giving way to insane rhetoric about how these centers are destroying communities. you know that, i know that, and to frame it as if it’s all simply reasonable criticism is a lie
@SanguineAgnosti …. which no one objects to
i’m glad we’ve come full circle from “data centers are evil and oppressive!” to “well yeah they might benefit some communities but it should be a vote!”
this entire conversation is emblematic of the derangement and hysteria your post responded to
@SanguineAgnosti great, i’m sure you know better than the small communities who have transformed due to the immense boost in tax base and job growth

@SanguineAgnosti the evidence you pulled is from a place with likely highest concentration of data centers in the world, and even then it claims they *might* produce contaminants - and you’re going to tell me that’s worth losing millions of dollars of economic activity?
@SanguineAgnosti and *even then* this evidence only points to power grid “concerns” and very rare cases of contamination - none of this in any way refutes the original point about mass hysteria surrounding these facilities
@SanguineAgnosti pointing out the increased water demand without any context or reference point as if it somehow disproves the hysteria is absurd
also pretty telling that your evidence is pulled entirely from VA, which has one of the highest concentrations of data centers in the world
@ZaidJilani ok then by your own logic not only is she wrong in her own case (a multimillionaire daughter of immigrants) but she’s also wrong about the “broad groups” she’s referring to (immigrants move to this country from that region all the time and find opportunity)
@ZaidJilani explain how claiming america is not a “land of opportunity for people like us” in any way constitutes a critique of government policy my man 😂
