My view: I’m supporting Zack Polanski because this was Keir Starmer’s supposedly safe seat, until he used it to reach No 10, then abandoned the people who repeatedly elected him despite promising he would not stand down.

A Green win would be a deserved embarrassment for Starmer and a warning to Labour: you cannot take progressive voters for granted, break promises, dilute action on housing, bills and inequality, then expect loyalty on demand.

Voting Green is a protest, but a purposeful one: backing Polanski’s case for lower housing costs, lower bills and a government that puts more money and power back in people’s hands.

BBC News report that despite there being 15 candidates for the Holborn & St Pancras by-election, it's really between Labour and The Greens.

My view: I want Zack Polanski to win the Holborn & St Pancras by-election. It was Keir Starmer’s seat, yet after using it as a stepping stone to the premiership, he has now abandoned it—despite previously saying he would not stand down.

A Polanski win would offer a clear alternative: a stronger voice on housing, the cost of living, climate action, public services and inequality, and one prepared to hold this Labour government to account when it fails its own supporters.

That matters because governments are at their weakest when they assume their core voters have nowhere else to go. A strong Green result would be a warning that Labour cannot take progressive voters for granted, water down its promises, or drift from the action needed on living standards, public services and the climate.
