WCFL League Champions 2025/26

Congratulations to @emmanuelcardiff for completing the season with a WCFL league record 100% win rate. 17 league matches and 17 wins (11 pre-division split and 6 post). What a performance across the year!

In response, and after much deliberation, we will now operate under the name of the Welsh Churches Football League or WCFL. We hope this change will make us more recognisable as we grow across Wales.

A NEW ERA DAWNS

We’ll now be known as the Welsh Churches Football League or WCFL!

Over the next few months, you’ll see some changes to our website and social media channels. We’re undergoing a name change and re-brand.

Most of you will know us as the UCCL (United Christian Churches League) and there’s so much history attached to that name! However, for a long time now many of you have told us that our name doesn’t clearly explain what we’re about.

@ParklandsChurch @DCUnitedUCCL @bethesdachapel With DC United were reduced to ten men in the 83rd minute a resolute rear-guard action ensued and DC United held firm to secure their first silverware since winning the UCCL Cup back in the 2018/19 season.

What a contest we were treated to as this season’s League Champions @ParklandsChurch took on @DCUnitedUCCL (representing @bethesdachapel) at the Centre for Sporting Excellence in Caerphilly.

@ParklandsChurch @DCUnitedUCCL @bethesdachapel However, three quick fire goals within the space off 15 minutes saw DC United bounce back with style and race into a 3-1 lead which the took into half time. A stunned Parklands FC pegged one back with fifteen minutes of regulation time remaining.

@HighfieldsCDF @Lifepoint_FC With neither side able to find their way past two in-form keepers, the final was decided on the very last kick of the game with @highfields_fc taking victory 5-4 on penalties.

🏆 Congratulations to our 2024/25 UCCL Plate Winners Highfields FC🏆

After narrowly missing out on the league title on the last week of the season and departing the UCCL Cup in the group stages, @HighfieldsCDF were determined to take away some silver this season.

@HighfieldsCDF @Lifepoint_FC, in the Plate Final for the second successive season, were also determined to make amends after last season’s final defeat against Beacon FC.

Both teams carved out opportunities in a closely fought encounter, but the game remained deadlocked after extra time

@highfields_fc @Lifepoint_FC This will be followed by the UCCL Cup where this seasons League Champions @ParklandsChurch face @DCUnitedUCCL . Kick-off is 2:30pm. Entry is free. Come and cheer on the teams for what is sure to be two cracking matches. We look forward to seeing you on the day!
