America was founded with the musket and the hatchet, hacking civilization out of primordial woods filled with merciless savages
Because our ancestors were not timid, we now have our nation
You must not only remember their spirit, but bring it back
I love the “Brutal American” story of Hannah Duston.
In 1697, during King William’s War, Hannah Duston, an English colonist from Haverhill, Massachusetts, was kidnapped by Abenaki Native Americans along with her newborn daughter and nurse, Mary Neff, after a raid on her settlement. Her husband managed to escape with their other children, but the captors killed Hannah’s infant by smashing it against a tree. She and Mary were taken northward, enduring a grueling march.
Weeks later, while held on an island in the Merrimack River (now known as Dustin Island near Concord, New Hampshire), Hannah, along with Mary Neff and a young English boy named Samuel Leonardson (who had been captured earlier), devised a plan to escape. On the night of March 30, while their captors slept, they armed themselves with tomahawks and killed ten of the Native Americans—six children and four adults. Hannah herself is credited with killing nine of them. Before fleeing in a stolen canoe, she scalped the victims to provide proof of the deed and claim a reward. They successfully returned to Massachusetts, where Hannah received 25 pounds from the General Court in Boston, with Mary and Samuel each receiving half that amount.
Hannah Duston’s story became legendary in American folklore, and she was later commemorated with statues, including one erected in 1874 on the island where the killings took place, depicting her with a tomahawk in one hand and scalps in the other. Her tale, celebrated as an act of bravery in colonial times, remains a prominent narrative in western lore tied to the frontier conflicts of early America.
@texastornado03@j_fishback@JayCollinsFL Please be nice to me! Why are you being mean? I'm just telling you what I saw with my own eyes. I'm an undecided voter.
@texastornado03@j_fishback@JayCollinsFL Pls re-read my last comment. I was there. Were you? Are you even from Florida? Your profile lists three different states, lol
@texastornado03@j_fishback@JayCollinsFL No shit you stupid foid. Why do you think the kid started video taping? Because Layla Collins wouldn’t stfu. Back to the kitchen with you!
@yfcuouk@lporiginalg Can't believe I had to scroll this far to find a reasonable take. If the races were reversed 90% of this comment section would do a 180 on their stance, lol.
@texastornado03@j_fishback@JayCollinsFL LMAO you have no idea what you’re talking about. I was there. It was her. Also, please look up how to use punctuation.
@texastornado03@j_fishback@JayCollinsFL I was there and it was 100% her. Patrick Bet David had to tell her to shut up like 5 times, if it was anybody else they would’ve gotten kicked out
My full closing statement for the 2026 Florida Governor's Debate:
This election is not about the who. This election is about the what. What vision for Florida do you want?
I'm going to stand up and ban data centers. I'm going to fight for our citrus growers and cattle ranchers. I'm going to stand up for your 1st and 2nd amendment rights.
I draw my principles from the U.S. Constitution and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
What we need right now is a revival in the state of Florida.
Imagine what goes on inside the mind of a creature that has the determination and aggressiveness to run through a plate glass barricade, yet lacks the skill, intelligence, or impulse control to legally obtain the $2 needed for the fare. Unfathomable stuff.
