That’s the burning question blazing thru MAGA right now.

Peter Bernegger (@PeterBernegger), the election integrity bulldog behind Election Watch, just dropped a bombshell thread exposing what he calls massive “smurfing” into Thune’s campaign—$1,148,902 laundered through 3,996 tiny, suspicious donor transactions from 714 unique “smurfers.”

Much of it allegedly funneled from US Treasury funds—your tax dollars. He filed an FEC complaint in Dec 2025, then sued the FEC in Jan 2026 when they ghosted it.

Smurfing = criminal money laundering tactic: breaking big illegal donations into small, reportable chunks. Why?
To hide the source.

Bernegger’s hit other senators too: Baldwin, Graham, Klobuchar, etc. but Thune as Senate Majority Leader?

This hits different.

Why is Thune stonewalling the SAVE Act —talking filibuster on citizen-only voting when 80%+ Americans want it?

Why block election security that could stop non-citizen voting cold?

Follow the money: OpenSecrets shows Thune’s hauled in big from lobbyists ($437k+ cycle), securities/investment ($1.1M+), insurance, transportation—globalist-friendly industries that love open borders and cheap labor.

So wait. Dark money floods in while he cuddles with the swamp?

Is Thune owned by Big Lobby, dark money PACs, or worse—foreign-influenced slush funds via Treasury loopholes?

Time to ask hard questions: Who really pulls Thune’s strings? Why no FEC action? Why no arrests?

I would measure how much wealth Musk created that never existed before.

Then I'd calculate what percentage of that wealth he kept.

Then I'd figure out what percentage of it he spent on his own lifestyle versus paid in taxes.

Then I'd calculate the incomes of the employees of his companies and their impact on the economy.

Then I'd look at the societal benefits of his companies because it's not all about cash.

I was a lifelong Democrat. I thought most conservatives were ignorant or evil or lying. I believed almost everything written in the New York Times, The New Republic, and the Atlantic. I was horrified when conservatives criticized the authorities. Every criticism I saw: I thought all of it was motivated by animus, resentment, self-interest, or ignorance.

Whatever truth there might have been in the criticism, I saw as a mere "half-truth": an exploitation of this or that cherrypicked fact being weaponized. Why did I see it in terms of weaponization? Because I was biased: I saw liberal establishment institutions and figures as fundamentally good, so all criticism of them was automatically interpreted as being in bad faith.

Didn't the critics know that these institutions or figures were fundamentally good? If they didn't, they were ignorant. If they did, they were evil. It was that simple. This meant that any legitimate criticisms would just be dismissed, as if bouncing off of an impenetrable bulletproof shield.

This all changed once I started writing about the pandemic. Soon people started talking about me the way I once thought about conservatives. This led to a complete identity collapse as I came to understand that my old worldview was hateful and ignorant, that I hadn't understood what I had been judging.

I cannot forget the hearing that led to my dismissal from medical school a year after I started writing. During the hearing, people talked about me as if I wasn't human. My behavior was interpreted in the worst possible light. Complete fabrications were created. Nobody was concerned with the truth, only horrified at my apparent "unprofessional behavior", which was really a mirror of their unprofessional behavior directed at me. They structured the hearing to make it virtually impossible for me to speak and explain that what was being said was a lie. And nobody seemed to have any problem with this. Why? Because I was bad. If I am bad, then every mistreatment and every violation of the school's own policies became justified. A person who is bad does not deserve any rights. They only deserve punishment.

But the thing I remember most was the allusions to my social media activity. They said, "Kevin is driven by resentment from his childhood." I wasn't. I was on good terms with my parents. They alleged that I needed psychotherapy to deal with this trauma. It was a completely fake story that they had constructed about me, to demean me, to marginalize me, to try to explain the views I had expressed: that something terribly wrong had happened during the pandemic. They couldn't imagine that I might have legitimate points. So they reduced me to the same kinds of psychological caricatures that I once reduced conservatives to in my own mind.

When I was dismissed, I was broken. But I had help from friends who helped me understand what happened. And I came to realize that a hysteria had overtaken the left. I spent a lot of time reading about show trials, about witch trials, and so on. I also connected with people who had experienced similar things and came to realize that something similar had happened to hundreds of physicians around the country. My story wasn't unique. It was all the same story over and over again.

I cannot believe the person I once was. I cannot believe that I could exist like that. I still don't understand how I could be like that, or how millions of people in this country could continue being like that. It disturbs me greatly.

One thing I know is that whatever this thing is that is driving people crazy needs to be destroyed. It is hostile to civilization and to our humanity. It causes us to dehumanize each other and try to destroy each other. It is the very same monstrous thing that I once attributed to conservatives. But it had been inside me, and I could now see it inside others. This is something I still grapple with.

- He has literally reduced the cost of going into space x10 compared to what the federal government was doing with NASA showing extreme efficiency (And he did so as a private in the private sector, which no one thought was possible before)
- SpaceX is the highest valued company in the US and maybe even the world at 350 billion
- He started X AI only a year ago, and it's already valued at $78 billion and is the most advanced AI in the world connecting more Nvidia GPUs than anyone previously thought possible (Again, doing something that no one previously thought possible and he did all of this in about a sixth of a time that it took any of the magnificent seven or leading tech AI companies. So again, extreme efficiency)
- He single-handedly saved free speech in the west by buying Twitter, and X is valued at 44 billion
- He cut 80% of the X workforce and increased gross margins by 4x in profitability. Profitability by 2.5x (And yes, we all know that revenue declined because he stood for free speech. So he lost advertising dollars, but he saved free speech. So thanks)
- This doesn't even touch Neuralink, which is valued at 8 billion
- The boring company, which is valued at 7 billion
- Tesla robots or the Hyperloop at Neuralink
- He's literally working to cure blindness, paralysis and working to allow communication with people who were previously unable to communicate
- He's solving traffic congestion and reimagining our transportation, making that again, more efficient

And while he's doing all of this, he's literally
Volunteering like 20 hours a day to help the American people.

I genuinely feel bad for those who are not intelligent enough to appreciate Elon Musk and what he's doing for society because accomplishing just one of the things that he's accomplished in a lifetime would far exceed everyone else on the face of this earth. USAID, the NEA, and other taxpayer-funded programs issue billions of dollars in grants. John and Jane, or Pete and Pete, each work at non-profits who receive these grants.

The non-profit pays them $300,000 or more. In some cases, such as the Kennedy Center, the CEO is paying $1.5 million.

A married couple takes in $750,000 together, and often much more. Off of your back.

Year after year, and the perks don't stop with salaries. Believe it or not, that's small potatoes.

If they want a free ski vacation in Aspen? Well there's a conference being held annually. The non-profit will of course fly them there and provide accommodations. Every meal is of course non-profit related. Eat well.

Itching for a trip to Switzerland or Paris? Same deal. The non-profit would be delighted to host a conference on some subject.

How they cut their family and friends in on the scam.

Their nepo babies start a "conference organizing business," and pay them from the non-profit to put on events.

Maybe they take on an ownership interest in these businesses via an offshore account.

How will anyone be able to track down this money? It's stash in the Cayman Islands or in Switzerland via one of the many "businesses" that provide "services" for the non-profit USAID industrial complex.

Speaker fees for their friends?

Yes, of course. That's how to really get the big bucks going, as speaking fees and vendors aren't accounted for item-by-item on the Form 990.

Hold a "gala" and pay everyone $100,000 to give a talk. Pay millions to the "vendors" run by nepo babies and others in on the corruption.

Even judge / their families are in on these scams.

It's why DC judges are issuing lawless rulings. Their spouses, friends, and families are all taking a piece of the action.

The end result of that DC exists entirely off of your back.

This corruption must end, and that's why they hate Elon.

They won't go down without a fight. These are all people living lIke billionaires for doing nothing.

Think this story is exaggerated. Look at these salaries from "non-profits," which are funded by taxpayers via grants and other "aid."

Now you understand the anger.
