🇺🇸 MAMDANI: "ICE CAN'T ENTER PRIVATE SPACES LIKE YOUR HOME, SCHOOL OR WORKPLACE WITHOUT A JUDICIAL WARRANT SIGNED BY A JUGDE"

After reports that ICE attempted a raid on Canal Street, Zohran Mamdani released a video telling New Yorkers, especially immigrants, what their legal rights are during any encounter with federal immigration agents.

He frames the issue as a matter of protecting the city’s 3M immigrants, and emphasizes that ICE’s authority is limited without a judicial warrant. He also warns New Yorkers that ICE is legally allowed to lie, and urges calm, filming, and knowing when to refuse entry.

He finishes by saying New Yorkers have a constitutional right to protest and that he would defend it as mayor.

“Last weekend, ICE attempted to raid Canal Street and detain our immigrant neighbors.

As mayor, I’ll protect the rights of every single New Yorker, including more than 3M immigrants.

ICE cannot enter private spaces like your home, school, or workplace without a judicial warrant signed by a judge.

ICE is legally allowed to lie to you, but you have the right to remain silent and ask, “Am I free to go?”

New Yorkers have a constitutional right to protest, we will protect that right.”

The good news is you will have to do very little thinking on your own cuz the people who bought u ur seat will tell u exactly what to do on every issue (frankly they won’t let u touch guns, women’s rights or the environment). That should work out well for u since u haven’t taken a hard, principled stance in ur entire quid-pro-quo political career.
