Literally thousands of a variety of bulbs have been planted around the perimeter of Abbey Rec , by a specialist machine .
This will transform the look of the park in the Spring and Summer.
We will of course post pictures of its impact next year.
New fencing between Abbey Rec and Merton Park Green Walk has just been installed.
This along with the installation of 5 new benches and other improvements , were financed by the £40k CIL money raised by WERA .
Another 250 trees were planted by WERA on the Merton Park Green Walk.
This brings the total number of trees planted by WERA since its inception to 3689 in Abbey Rec , Nursery Road Playing Fields as well as the Green Walk .
We went down to Abbey Park Rec to catch up with Keith Hunter from @WERAMerton to find out about the park’s journey to Green Flag status!
