@WFD_Pakistan in collaboration with @theSNP and @AnthroInsights organized one day workshop to review the legislative and implementation gaps for Sindh Environmental Protection Act, 2014. Representatives from Sindh EPA, CSOs, and relevant ministries attended the workshop.
Directer (Enforcement) Balochistan EPA Mr. Muhammad Ali Batur discussed how EPA must institute changes targeted at building capacities at both individual and organizational level.
@WFD_Pakistan in collaboration with @AnthroInsights conducted a PLS workshop on implementation analysis of the PEPA Act, 1997 with Federal & Provincial EPAs, recommending a framework of areas that need legislative amendments to meet our climate resilience goals.
DG EPA Punjab Ms. Anbreen stressed that reasonable budgetary allocations are crucial for executive bodies to function properly; a sectoral bifurcation of the budget can prove more efficient for containing environmental damage.
DG EPA (Federal) @DGPakEPA stated that we need an array of changes from legislation to implementation in order to effectively reverse the impact of damaged environment on the climate.
MPA Mr. Muhammad Idrees reiterated that climate is vast and a cross cutting field and stressed the importance of effective policy making on provincial level.
