It isn't very often when I watch an Iowa State game & have to look up who a player is. That happened last week with Rylan Barnes - a RS Fr. walk-on linebacker and the pride of Britt, Iowa & West Hancock High School legend. Tonight, he made his first start as a Cyclone and had NINE tackles! He was incredible!
Making the story even more compelling: Mom and dad Barnes couldn't find time to make the trip. Harvest.✊ That's as Iowan as it comes.
Let's hope that the crops turn out great and Rylan's family can be in Ames next week when the top-10 Cyclones will take on UCF in another Jack Trice night game.

Fun afternoon in Minneapolis. Played hard on both ends of the floor, adjusted well to the AAU highly physical style of play. We played a couple of really good teams, ended up 2nd, dropping a game by 8 to the Minnesota Bulldogs. #WarhawkNation
