Important:
--I was there.
--Dusty hadn't been on WWF TV yet.
--They announced Dusty as the sub before the show started, and the crowd's pop was even bigger by far.
Lesson: Don't go around thinking fans willing to pay for a ticket didn't watch all of the free TV wrestling.
@Bobstain_88@LeeHAuthor The very ones! The Texas Outlaws.
Arguably that’s why Dusty and Dick became famous - won gold everywhere they went between 1968 and early 1970s, and were a huge draw, with a wee Crockett reunion in ‘88.
Now, Wyatt and Wayne Rhodes have taken up the mantle. No “New” for them!

In between falls of a Texas Death match, the wrestler has 30 seconds to regain their feet.
Terry Funk, somehow having ripped his jeans nearly off his body, makes that 30 seconds mesmerizing.
Karl Gotch introduces the German Suplex to Japan in 1961.
His opponent, Michiaki Yoshimura, is considered puroresu's first super-worker.
Known as the "Fireball Kid" he was often the first to face a foreign opponent and teamed with Rikidozan, Baba and Inoki over the years.
Louie Spicolli coming out to "Louie Louie" by John Belushi is one of those wonderful music choices that happens in life. It fits so perfectly. Louie was one of my favourites. A great looking man for wrestler. Expressive resting face. Nasty grin on him. What a boy.
“The last thing Bobby Eaton wanted to do was look up old wrestlers on Google.”
Debbie Eaton Lewis says the final time she saw Bobby in the hospital, she joked that Google said he was worth all this money. Bobby laughed… then asked:
“Can you see if you can find Tom Drake?”
Not himself. Not his own career. Another wrestler.
She started looking people up for him, and Bobby sat there reading about them like a fan all over again. Debbie said he especially loved reading about Robert Gibson, Ricky Morton, Arn Anderson, and the guys he grew up admiring.
“We had the best time that day,” she said.
A few days later, Bobby was gone.
.@AEW reached out today to make sure there was a way for Vladimir to watch Double or Nothing tomorrow from the hospital since he can no longer attend in person after his fall. A big thank you to everyone from their team for the kindness.
The wrestling world has lost one of its true tough men.
Today we say goodbye to Phil Hickerson, who has passed away at the age of 79.
Our condolences to family, friends and fans around the world.
Rest easy, sir… and thank you for the memories.
I have been asked to pass along the following news on Vladimir Abouzeide, subject of WWE documentary Superfan: The Story of Vladimir and the company's only officially recognized superfan. As we have previously noted, Vlad has been battling Parkinson's Disease over the last several (1/5)
