Lex wasn’t used to that care. The closest she got to it was John, who had practically adopted her and Hannah at this point. But it was still a lot.
“I busted my ankle a week ago. But I am okay, I promise.”
"Are you sure you're alright? You look hurt," he asked with a fatherly sort of care. He couldn't help it. He just wanted to make sure everything was alright with her.
Lex was in a military uniform, a boot on her ankle. She didn’t really react much but did seem a bit shaken.
“It’s okay. I’m fine. Didn’t knock me over.”
Mark chipperly walked down the streets of downtown, waving to everybody he passed by. While he distracted waving to somebody else, he accidentally bumped into Lex. "Oops!" He said sounding remorseful. "Silly me!"
