China produces abt 35% of global supply of sulfuric acid.
China sources 50% of its sulfur from the Persian Gulf.
Sulfuric acid is used in fertilizers, copper mining, car batteries, semiconductor manufacturing etc; it's a basic building block of civilization.
While Trump threatens to bomb Iran back to the Stone Age, China just said you first.
Cosco (10% of global container shipping) has suspended operations at Panama Canal port after Panama govt invalidated agreement and took control of the port
This came one day after the port new operators Maersk and MSC were summoned in Beijing
Expect more moves from Beijing in the coming days
The funniest part of this Bloomberg quote is the American belief that they “created” China’s rise.
- As if China’s WTO entry wasn’t under the harshest terms ever imposed.
- As if India didn’t join the WTO earlier and yet never industrialized.
- As if the U.S. didn’t destroy China’s corn sector, trigger massive SOE bankruptcies, leave millions jobless in the 90s— and many families in Northeast China committed suicide by burning charcoal in the dead of winter.
- As if China didn’t spend decades trading 800 million shirts for one Boeing aircraft.
- As if discipline, endurance, long-term planning, and social cohesion were assets that any country could simply copy-paste.
America didn’t “create” China.
China rebuilt itself despite the price America forced it to pay.
🚨 HOLY FUCKING SHIT
U.S. STRIKES IN MIDDLE EAST USED ANTHROPIC’S CLAUDE
>be anthropic

Real war robots would look much more terrifying than this.
Some thoughts:
1. Great warbots would be terrifyingly inhuman.
They'd look more like insects, snakes, or something unsettling. Or if humanoid, use death imagery like skulls. Inhuman designs often mimic the movement of spiders, crabs, etc. Looking at it would tap into our primal phobias from when we evolved, while performing movements that seem unsettling. That matters. You create chronic dread, fatal hesitation, and panic. They need to look like terrifying predators from your nightmares.
2. Form = Better tactical advantages
Banged on about this before. Humanoids are notoriously difficult to balance. A legged robot has a much lower center of gravity. Smaller target. But its also a more stable firing platform, better navigation, and wider combat load and armor. Its also can remain combat effective longer. If a humanoid robot loses a leg, it is combat-ineffective. Simplified kinematics make a difference in recovery of damaged units. Also a pure human style can only effectively engage what is in front of them. As we can see in the AI video.
3. Terrifies the populace of occupied areas.
Human troops exist to occupy territory. From COIN ops to patrols. Inhuman robots change the rules of that dynamic. Its far more terrifying for a civilian populace that faces silent, multi-legged, faceless machines that move with terrifying, non-human movements. So the
fear of the unknown becomes a constant force multiplier. It that the occupying power is not just technologically superior, but fundamentally other.
4. They're easier to build.
Without the need to fit everything into a torso? Easier to build these machines as modular blocks. You can swap a sensor pod for a mortar tube or an extra battery pack in seconds. Many military platforms have staying power from their versatility of uses. A major tactical consideration that MICs and militaries look at. Its simplifies the parts and logistics needed to keep these weapons maintained. And in combat effective numbers.
It turns the battlefield into an environment where the human soldier feels like the prey. Otherness is the point. And real robot soldiers should psychologically intimidate. While concealing combat power higher than any humanoid robot can deliver
One of many reasons why I laugh when bros so breathlessly claim how imminent is AGI. Not sure if it’s lack of knowledge, or lack of humility of how much we don’t understand our own intelligence, or lack of character so you deliberately hype.
30 years from now we’ll look back and laugh in the 2020’s how many humans thought LLMs were the path to AGI.
